I have only had a hatch rate lower than 50% A few times out of many, many hatchings. One was because the eggs that were sent to me were filthy, another was hard to hatch and some were just not very good stock. Mostly though, I have had very good hatches and just from my LG's. I think it has a lot to do with the hatcher. We often think we are doing all the right things but you have to experiment to figure out what works.

if you want a guarantee of nice blue eggs you should get true ameraucana, not easter eggers. If you go to eggbid.com, Jean(pips&peeps) has auctions going. You could also pm tailfeathers, peachick, geareduplyn, pasofinofarms, sara........
there are many that have them(depends on what color you want), just go to the top and do a search in the hatching eggs section and make sure you spell ameraucana right

good luck finding your eggs.

ps- I have had 1-100% hatch from shipped eggs and as low as 5%, mostly get 30-40% depending on breed and where the eggs came from.....

Our last batch of eggs we ordered twice as many as we thought we wanted and had 24 hatch out of 36 sent. Now we have too many. Next time I will order what I think we want and take our chances with the hatch rate. We have had much better luck with having eggs shipped primarily to us in CT from breeder on the east coast and we pay extra for express delivery.
