It's not too sweet like a desert. I was looking up sweet potato pie recipes and almost all called for white or brown sugar. I didn't use either.
You can eat it like a side dish or dessert.

I love a pie slice for breakfast! I always order dessert before a meal when we go out that way I have room for that dessert. This would be great as breakfast with coffee!
