(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Been raising geese, ducks and chickens now for close to 10 years. Every year I learn much more than I knew the year before.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Have well over 40 chickens, 11 geese, and 14 ducks. Try to keep the volume down...lol.
(3) What breeds do you have?
White Chinese Geese. Peking, Rouen and Magpie ducks. Silkie, Black Copper Maran, Orpington, and Cochin.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The miracle of life
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
This is my hobby....also enjoy riding on the back of my husbands Harley. I have two green thumbs so I love to grow just about anything.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a retired Mortgage Banker, have an Anatolian Shepherd and American Bulldog to protect me and the farm. Also have two cats, one barn cat, and one porch cat. Am married to the love of my life, we have 6 children between us, 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grands. (Hence no other hobbies)
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I joined BYC on Facebook several years ago and just recently discovered this. Love sharing info with like-minded people.
