***Warning re: Ebay and PayPal ***

I heard that you cannot let anyone pay you with a money order or check anymore.
As of the first of this month I believe, all transactions on e-bay must be paid through paypal or you cannot do business there.

And the reason for Paypal is Ebay OWNS Paypal and they want all of the transaction fees via Paypal to go back into their pockets!

That's one reason why I try to deal locally and with craigslist.

We sell on Ebay and use only paypal for payment, works great for us. We did something stupid and bought from a new ebay seller with less than 5 feedbacks. It turned out the seller was a scammer, Ebay and paypal we great, we got a full refund and the seller was kicked off.

I posted an item for a friend on Ebay today. I got notified that my listing mentioned I'd accept cashiers check or money order as well as paypal, and I can't say that anymore. So I had to go back and edit my listing removing the payment methods.

I used to order a lot of books from e bay since i read so much, but the shipping charges have gotten so high I just wait for books a million to throw free shipping on over $25.00 and order from them. marrie

At least you got a courtesy refund. I HATE the BBB--that's a joke!

That's why I take out my money IMMEDIATELY. I've heard that can help keep them from freezing your payments!

I usually only use paypal....but have you looked at the fees lately. You sell anything of value and you get HAMMERED!!! but I do understand that it is really convenient. I didn't realize it until a buyer who was picking up some french doors said he would leave and deposit on paypal but pay the rest in cash so I didn't get slammed with fees. Then I looked at the fees!! I was like what the heck?

Just for information. Ebay owns Pay Pal and Craig's List ! I haven't had trouble but I sell a lot and I will keep my fingers crossed!
