Go to e-bay and just look up the payment methods, or look at what all the payment methods sellers are accepting on their ads, only paypal.
Nothing else is accepted, as a matter of fact the last time I bought something the seller had it posted right on their site that after that week e-bay was only allowing their sellers to use paypal so this person was no longer going to be doing business with e-bay and they recommended that you check out their website and deal directly with their company.
Alot of sellers are quitting e-bay.
A couple of posts below also state the same thing I stated.

I just read an article about Craigslist in Money Magazine or Smart Money Mag one of those, and eBay doesn't own Craigslist. But look for Craigslist to start charging too, at least commerial businesses, I can see from their changes that they are gearing up for it.

I think they are all getting greedy. You can't tell me that they don't make LOTS of money without raising their prices.

Another thing I heard from an ebay rep (I used live chat) was that people have been doing this a lot and screwing everyone over.

Hey guys,
PLEASE READ ALL THIS-IT COULD SAVE YOU A LOT OF HEADACHE:

I am an eBay pioneer (was on before it was called eBay when Pierre owned it...it was so nice than!) Here is the link about the all new NO PAPER PAY: http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200810.shtml#2008-10-21105916 BY THE WAY...PROPAY is an eBay company, too!

As far as insurance, make sure you make Insurance MANDATORY for any International (beside U.K., & Canada) shipments. If an International buyer claims they didn't receive a package...EVEN IF YOU SHOW THAT IT WAS DELIVERED TO SAY...ITALY (
sad.png
can you tell I've already had this happen with an Italian transaction? Had it happen with Brazil, too! ), the International buyer will AUTOMATICALLY get their money back. YES, I said EVEN if you can PROVE that it was SHIPPED (via the customs number on your receipt...can be used as tracking Int'l packages), they take it out of your paypal and put it in theirs. Mine was a $279 rare poster, too. They now have the poster AND $279...and it's the perfect scam.
I did everything in my power to get it reversed. Since everyone is in eBay's pocket, it was useless. So much time and money.

I also wanted to tell you about an insurance for packages that I have been using for over 5 years. It is SUPER great for Int'l shipments and I haven't had ONE Int'l buyer complain about the extra MANDATORY $2 insurance PER every $100. It's called U-pic (www.U-pic.com) ... No, I don't work for them...but I am the type of person that when I find a good/great thing, I am HAPPY to let everyone in on it!!! Hard to find a good caring company that REALLY, TRULY IS there for the customer, anymore.
They are VERY quick on claims...no hassle, no over-bearing demands, etc. They also provide insurance for anywhere USA.

Don't GIVE your money to the PO. They get enough and raise it every year.

They are making money that they could have never dreamed of until SELLERS AND BUYERS on eBay came along...yet they keep raising the rates.

Feel free to E-MAIL me if you need any advice, tips, info (or counseling

) on selling. PLEASE DO NOT PM...ONLY EMAIL. The PM box fills up WAY too fast.

I sell a few things here and there on ebay and EVERYTIME I do , there is some sort of dang problem. My Pypal account has been hacked, I've had people buy stuff then claim I did something wrong and THEIR money gets refunded, the list just goes on and on. As of the end of October you cannot take paper payments anymore. That way ebay gets their hand in everybodys pockets. If you use Paypal you can returns items that are claerly sold as is no return. That's paypal, they are an ebay company. I have complained over and over about the abuse sellers take now that the buyers can just run amuck but they send me some stupid email with links on how to safeguard myself when selling or some junk like that. They make me FURIOUS!

Same thing happened to me. We ended up getting stuck with $100 worth of broken stuff the buyer refused to pay for.

YIKES
- this is an excerpt off the above page:

What if I only accept checks, money orders or other payment methods that will be prohibited?

By October 20 you'll need to do at least one of the following:
Add PayPal as a payment method to your listings. This can be done by editing your Selling Preferences in My eBay > My Account > Site Preferences.

Sign up with ProPay to offer this electronic payment option to your customers. We are also working closely with additional electronic payment providers to add them to our approved payment providers list. Learn more.
Accept credit or debit cards through your Internet merchant account.
What if I don't take at least one of these steps by October 20, 2008?
You will not be able to list new items or relist using the same templates. Your current listings will remain on eBay.com until they end. Good 'til Canceled listings will be displayed on eBay until they come up for relisting at the end of 30 days.
===========================================
Do I have to remove references to prohibited payment methods from my templates and item descriptions?

Yes, you must remove references to prohibited payment methods from your templates and item descriptions. This will not be done automatically. If prohibited payment methods are included in your item description, your listing will be in violation of the new Accepted Payments Policy.

AND, WHAT-YOU'LL ARREST THE SELLER AND PUT THEM IN EBAY JAIL???

This is the cherry on top:

What should I do if I have long-standing, repeat customers who insist on paying with checks or money orders, even after I explain the benefits of electronic payments and offer suggestions?

(I smell a lawsuite...or TWO!)

We know this may happen occasionally. A seller can accept check and money order payment from a buyer if (and only if) the buyer requests it. We will not take action against a seller who is trying to accommodate their buyer, complete a sale and be in compliance with the policy. Once these changes go into effect October 20, 2008, a seller cannot in any way solicit check or money order payment from a buyer. This is considered "abuse of the payments policy". We will take action against such abuse. Remember also, you can refuse to accept these payment methods. If the buyer doesn't pay, you can file an unpaid item (UPI) complaint. Buyers who insist on paying with these prohibited payment methods in a UPI claim will lose the claim and will not be allowed to leave negative feedback.

What happens to my feedback if a winning bidder refuses to pay using the payment methods specified in my listing?

If the buyer refuses to pay using the payment methods specified in your listing, file an Unpaid Item (UPI) dispute. If the buyer fails to respond to eBay's requests for more information through the UPI process, provides an inadequate response such as nonsense words, or insists upon paying with an unapproved payment method, any negative or neutral Feedback left by the buyer will be removed.

What if a buyer threatens negative Feedback to demand payment by a method not specified in my listing?

You should immediately report the buyer to eBay. If there is clear evidence of undue pressure, eBay will take action. If a buyer shows a pattern of malicious behavior, eBay will most likely suspend the buyer and any negative or neutral Feedback the buyer left for any sellers will be removed.
(THAT ONE IS GOING TO BE FUN...NEG FEEDBACK, MORE REPORTING, UGH

)

What will happen if I ask a buyer to use a prohibited payment method?

Requesting prohibited payment methods from your customers either by email or in your item description is a violation of the new Accepted Payments Policy. Violations of this policy may result in:
Listing cancellation
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Limits on account privileges
Loss of PowerSeller status
Account suspension

and the people that screw you over cant get neg feedback. I love ebay <<<<----- sarcasm!

I had problems with paypal as they started charging for things I didn't buy or double charging. I cancelled both ebay and paypal. I would gladly buy eggs from some of you folks but, I am not going to sign up to paypal/ebay for it and would rather do without.
