Was going to show but my best bird is...bald...Now with pics

And this year, after talking to some local, poultry, old farts - they know they're old farts it isn't a slam, LOL, they said use whole or crushed oats for a hen I had with too much molting problems and one that had gotten plucked by a dog.

ADD oats and up the protein and they can feather in rather quickly. I was very pleased.

Here's my ugly bald pullet

Oh. So sorry to hear that. That would be my luck. she is beautiful. Maybe we could get her a feather toupee and no one would notice.

Hmmm. That is rather, um, bare. She's very pretty otherwise! Not sure what to tell you. Go with your instincts on this one...

Could she be molting? My rooster molted a lot of his breast feathers, but they were already growing back before I even noticed he molted them in the first place

Heck I had a MALE turkey go broody with his gal, he stripped out his own breast feathers in just that pattern. Sad really. He didn't look anywhere near as macho as he had but... He looked really cute with the chicks on his back (mom sucked at brooding and had to raise chicks instead). He did the entire brooding thing on the ground with them til they could perch. He was a good daddy though, just looked pure stupid.
