WAS so frustated! Now very happy! Update on pg. 3

You ordered a coop when?????? OH NO!!!!! Totally unacceptable. If it were me, this is what I would do (and this is just my 2 cents).

1. I would send him a nice email re-capping the events that have led up to you STILL not having your coop. I would explain to him that he is in breach off his contract and that you are demanding the finished coop within a certain period of time. Tell him that if he cannot deliver, then you will proceed with legal action. (Tell him that you DO NOT want the refund, you want the coop AS PROMISED.) If he does not deliver, then begin legal action.
2. You said that he is a builder but you didn't say if he is a local business owner or just someone who builds things. With that said, I would contact the local Better Business Bureau and let them know what is going on.
3. I know that you have all of your emails, so print those out and forward them to the Better Business Bureau.
4. Unfortunately when things like this happen, it takes time for this to play out.

Hopefully, you win this and get your coop for your girls.

Once you win (and this is just what I would do), I would blast this man and his business on the internet, Craiglist, etc. and make people aware of his bad business practices and terrible customer service. And you wouldn't be telling a lie because you have proof. But that's just me. When you provide terrible customer service to me (that ends up like your story), you get what you ask for as far as me posting a Unsatifactory Customer Review EVERYWHERE.

He emailed me on Wednesday and said he was tired of dealing with me and will be sending my refund asap. I feel like a weight has been lifted! I am just glad to be cut from him, and I will be building my coop with some good friends this coming week! It will be an 8x8 lean to roofed shed style coop, instead of the 8x6 with 2' front porch. Now I can utilize ALL 64 feet inside. I can also be part of the building process now, and I am so excited to learn how to do this.

This has turned into a wonderful event funnily enough. I got a full time job and place to live offer back where I spent my high school years, and that idea is thrilling. Either way my girls will have an awesome coop! I will have a total of 8 girls, and IF I move back to Grass Valley I will have 8 hens and 1 rooster, so a total of 9. Winters here are mild, and in Grass Valley/Penn Valley they are mild as well compared to many places in the states. Winters don't usually get below 20 degrees F, and it snows occasionally through Jan-March, but Penn Valley doesn't get much snow. I am very excited

Sacramento winters are mild as well. My biggest concern with the coop is RAIN proof and for it to have a good floor (I am not a 'slight' gal

) so I want to be comfortable walking in and such to clean. And 8x8 will be easy and less cutting of wood

YAY! lol!

Thank you for the advice, I will definately be posting a buyer beware on Craigslist, but I think he builds these things on the side of retirement maybe? I am not sure.. I really don't know much about him, during these three months I talked to him a max of 3 times on the phone. Shoulda seen it coming lol!! Ah well now it is funny and a good learning experience and my girls will have a BETTER coop soon enough

So, he mailed your refund when? And you should get this when? Something is telling me that you won't see your refund any time soon. Kinda like he promised you a coop within 4 - 6 weeks. Do you think he will return your money? I would be VERY surprised if you received your money in a week or so. PLEASE keep us posted on when you get your refund.

I hope that you and your friends have a wonderful and fun time building your coop. Sounds like it will be fun. Be sure to take pics during the process, so that you can go back and look on all of this and just sit back and smile when you see your chickens in their new coop.

Good Luck !!!!!

The contract states he has UP until 45 days from request to send refund for it to arrive. So.. I can't bug him at least until a few days have passed.. I don't know

I still hope he will refund me, and I really do think he will.. When? I have no clue...

It
still needs to be painted, and I have hit a rough patch losing two hens to toxicity from either a plant or my neighbors use rat poison so they might have gotten a rat..

It has been a hard week.

So I only have two hens in the big 8x8 coop heh. One Barred Rock and one EE. They each have 32 square foot in that coop right now LOL! But I hope to rebuild my flock up this coming spring back to 6.

Haven't gotten the refund yet.

I will be painting my new coop forest green with white trim.
