Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

They are really cute, I have to get me some more! Just one thought though, I was under the impression that true Ameraucanas have slate coloured legs, and it looks like the one at left has pink/orange legs?

Good question. I'm checking into that with Jean.

ETA: ok... Jean said that Wheaten have "skin colored" legs until they get a little older..... Whew!

I bought my work van with a bank lien on it.
Went to the lien holder with the seller and did the transaction there so all paperwork was done in front of me to ensure clear title.
I did have to wait for my title which wasn't a big deal cause I understood they had a process to go through and all paperwork was signed and notarized and I had copies.

Hey guys! I'm just popping in and reading backward. The chicks are great! And I'm glad I didn't waste time for them to meet.

Jess, awesome tunic and may I say, you work so fast!

Oh, well he keeps me from being a guest on Hoarders. We're going to put together the nipple waterers tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes. Always a gamble with glass, but I bought a backup waterer anyway.

I REALLY want to see how these turn out! Picture please?

I like this Woman's thought process.
I've been trying to get this through my daughters head to forget the normal job deal that we all been progamed for and go create your own.
This isn't new what this Woman has done but she was creative enough to go promote herself and get it done.
I like that!

If video doesn't work here is link to go watch it............

PORTLAND, Ore. – Parents know how tough finding a good babysitter can be.
Imagine the challenge finding a good chicken-sitter.
Turns out, raising chickens has become such a popular hobby that it’s created a whole new job market.
Linda Walker is a chicken-sitter, and says she’s getting calls to take care of chickens in Portland.

I love this idea- and in fact I paid a chicken sitter so we could take a week to go camping last summer.

Thank you for your post! That's kind of how I was imagining it might work. I will definitely talk with both banks tomorrow & see what they suggest. I appreciate the advice!

I wouldn't hire someone that takes care of other people's birds. There are too many diseases that you could get.

ILT was diagnosed last fall in the Portland area from a swap and I know it has been jumping around the Seattle area in a flock here and there for the past couple of years.

So my DD Mikayla and I after a busy morning had the privilege to visit Cowgirlgrace what a cool lady! We went to pick up a couple Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana chicks and ended up talking about incubating eggs which helps for Mikayla's science fair project and we talked some gardening. We didn't go down to the big tunnel but man that thing is BIG!
Cowgirlgrace put all the chicks in a box to make it easier for Mikayla to pick them out, I tell her just a few. Oh are those BLR Wyandotte Chic's? Cool! Maybe a couple of those too! I look in Mikayla's box and I couldn't see the bottom! Dad you said a few that's a few. After explaining few is three and your mom will kill me if we bring home more than a FEW! She says dad they're so cute though, mommy won't mind. We ended up with 4 of each and hatching eggs! 6 Lavender Orpington eggs and 6 Cochin eggs of some sort. I guess I'll need to figure out the name of the Cochin, she told me but I was on a chick binge so my focus was a little off! The Roo had very cool colors so we had to get eggs. What the heck right? Thanks Kayla!!!
We got the chicks home and I swear our dog Tucker was shaking his head and mumbling Dude you're on your own I ain't got no room in my house for you tonight! Gee Thanks Pal!!
So Here are our new additions

DD Kayla is working on names as we speak and she was right DW loves the new babies and no DOG House for ME!!!
Tucker you and I need to talk PAL
