Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Quote: I am growing a willow hedge on the other side of the yard. I picked up twigs on a walk around Greenlake. I will keep it coppiced so they won't turn into trees on me, and to enjoy the great twig color.

The house on that side of us just sold. I hope the new neighbors are as nice as the old.

oh boy- what a morning. First- neighbor to our south is a wild bunch- and apparantly were having a party last night. We were woken up 3x by loud car engine revving nouises and party goings. It's amazing how far sound travels when everything is so quiet out here normally. So, sleep deprived, but woke up this moning by the bright sunlight coming in - had to get up and check the chick hatching progress.

Good grief- we've got chicks everywhere! They are having a chick party! jumping all over the place, stepping on each other- and ......and then one (or maybe even 2) of them fell UNDER the hatch tray, so is on the bottom of the inCOOLbator, peeping it's little heart away, sad to not be with her friends. Zgoatlady thinks we might have a spraddle legger, but probably no other harm done so long as it's moving around- it didn't get hurt falling- hopefully didn't get hurt by the fan when it fell?

We've got more hatching- one more silver leghorn that is completely ziped and trying to push apart- seems like it's either stuck or slow going- has been trying to push apart for an hour (?). We've got one extra naughty chick trying to peck everyone's eyes out. It's chick chaos here

I'll go take some pictures and report back- once I get my coffee IV started.........

Quote: i coated my bark fence with spray acrylic clear outdoor stuff (I don't know the real name for it..) I think it will need another coat this summer, but I think it will help maintain the color and make it last longer.
I ordered a 15' length of the 5' fir bark. That should be plenty to fill the one spot. If Scott likes it, we have a whole lot of chain link out back to cover. I've started native rose seeds, but they'll take too long to cover the chainlink for Scott. I'm afraid I married an instant garden person.

Hi! My daughter (age 7) is just getting started in 4-H too! I don't know a lot about it yet, but we just called the county extension & they sent us a huge info packet & the paperwork to get started. We are going to the next orientation (in two weeks) and hope to learn much more then! They have so many neat programs, we are very excited!

Sweetlilbaby, my thoughts are with you as you face saying goodbye to Demon. Dogs are my people & I know how devastating it is to lose the special ones.

I was uploading old pics from my phone today & thought I'd share this one of my daughter with Bettie Page (RIP) and Big Red.

Love this Pic Hands full of chicken!! Very cute!!

Thank you robj!

I posted a thread in the random forum with more info but does anyone here have experience buying a car with a bank lien on it? (It's a private sale & I am paying off the seller's loan)

It was snowing here this morning off and on.
Sun coming out now looking forward to a great day.

Some of you might enjoy this story.
What a job taking care of 200 chickens.
I like this Woman's thought process.
I've been trying to get this through my daughters head to forget the normal job deal that we all been progamed for and go create your own.
This isn't new what this Woman has done but she was creative enough to go promote herself and get it done.
I like that!

If video doesn't work here is link to go watch it............

yes, we bought our Rav like that.
ONLY do that when the person and yourself are sitting in YOUR bank, with a loan officer handling the transaction. They will handle the transaction and protect you from mistakes.
If you are going to pay 100% cash, you want to be sure the loan officer looks over documents and can wire money to pay off their loan, etc, etc.
