Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Putting the word out….
Next Sat. I will be making the loop from Pip&peeps, Spokane area, over through Cle Elum, down to Black Diamond and Enumclaw, then over I-5 via Puyallup.
If anyone would like to contribute to gas, we would be happy to transport items of reasonable size. lol
We would do the drop anywhere along I-5 from Lakewood south to Chehalis.
We have a Yukon XL. We will have two large dog carriers in there but could fit two large and possibly multiple small ones as well.
PM if you need anything transported. :)

Jean thought someone wanted a pair of buff American geese;
she also has her pen of Silver Ams for sale, and
Choc bantam orps from eggs she hatched out this spring.
So whatcha getting….. :) Heather Spatt (spelling), Rare Feather Farm, lives over that way and usually has some nice birds too….

I just wrote a huge post and then when I tried to submit it, it said, "You have already submitted this form," and erased it all! What a headache. I'll just give up and submit this photo instead and say that my trio in Tumwater is doing great.

Heather does have nice birds. I have had her Sussex in years past and loved them.
I am picking up wh/blue wh AMs, bantam orps, BCM eggs/chicks, and bantam barnevelder eggs.
It's gonna be a fun trip!

Wow, where is everybody ?

I shut off the hatching incubator this morning & moved the last hatch of Bielefelders out to the brooder.

I just finished getting the big coop baby-proofed so I can put my "babies" out there starting on Friday. They are 9 weeks old, but still sleeping in the house because I'm overly protective. I'm going to stick them in with the two older hens and I think they'll be fine. I started feeding the babies in the coop today so they'll be more comfortable when I finally lock the door on them. My new hens don't want to use the big coop, so they can stay in their little coop at night and let the babies have the big one instead. The chicks are so cute when it starts raining or getting dark because they run to the back door and act like they want in the house. LOL Yeah, that won't be so funny when they are 6 months old.

On another note, someone is giving away some 2 year old hens in the free section. She's in Auburn. I always feel bad for the mature birds that are looking for a home. I think I'm at my limit though on what I can take in. My 2+ year old hen has only missed one day laying all month. Amazing! The older girls still deserve a chance!

Spent all weekend getting the temporary grow out pen up, 7 week olds moved, fresh coat of paint in the old coop, brooders cleaned and put away, gardens planted, etc and I have the bumps and bruises to prove it

Now back to "work" today!

The chickens had a change of plans last night. LOL None of the new girls wanted to sleep in the little coop, so they ventured into the barn at 7 p.m. Half of the new ones slept in the big coop with the old hens. The rest of them perched on top of a 7 foot wall in the barn and spent the night there. It seems like everyone is getting along rather well, which is nice. Hoping I can get them all to go into the big coop soon.
