Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I made a pot of chicken; black bean; potato soup yesterday, and am going to use my sourdough starter and get some bread going for tomorrow. I let it rise over night and then bake it off.
Fresh water for the flock this morning. DH and I hauled 6 loads of wood chips up to the run from the neighbors yesterday morning. this morning I am going to try and get the last of it, maybe 4 to 6 more.
I dont think the apples are ready yet but will test one out later,

Scrambled some eggs and topped them with pepper jack cheese for lunch today. One of the eggs was a big one, and it had a single big yolk in it. Usually the big ones have two yolks.

And one of the eggs was tiny, probably only 20 grams or so, and it didn't have a yolk at all. It was filled with just plain old egg white. So was that a fairy egg?

Got 7 eggs today from my 8 pullets and all were great. They varied in size but the shells were all pretty much perfect.

I picked 4 zucchini squash, then pulled up 4 or 5 zucchini plants from the garden, which I'll bury in the compost pile down by the woods a little later today. This cool weather really slowed down the summer squashes. I have a lot of them saved up, and I'll put them in the freezer today.

I think I'll get some spinach seeds and plant them were the squash were.

Kind of dealing with some kind of respiratory illness the last few days. I did a couple of covid tests and they were negative. Maybe it's that RSV thing. Burning sinuses, bit of a sore throat today, but no coughing or runny nose.

@ValerieJ , I never heard of ebleskiver before. I have a mini muffin pan that can make 24 muffins at a time. @pennyJo1960 , maybe I should use it to make meatballs.

It is a round pancake that you can fill with berries. Better than pancakes. It comes out in the shape of a little ball.

The actual baking muffin pans wouldn’t work. This a stove top thing. Have only ever seen the pans in cast iron.

Wednesday, after DH & I finished hauled my 6 wheelbarrows of wood chips, and got my shower,, my son came by after he had gone to the dump and wanted to load his trailer with wood chips. so I put my work jeans back on and my boots and helped him load a LOT! of chips/shavings. DH had an appointment in town so he couldnt help. I needed another shower.

It was another hard work day yesterday. We helped our sun drop some dead trees on a neighbors property, we started at 8:45 and had a cord dropped, DS and DH cut, I hauled / rolled the rounds out of the forest to the 2 grandsons 9 & 13 , they stacked it. Then it all got loaded in sons trailer by 12:00.
OMGoodness one of the trees, the bottom 9 feet was so big around and wet/HEAVY I couldn't roll the last 2 rounds, Son had to.
Then I fed DS and 2 grandboys chicken potato black bean soup with lots of cheese on top, I made yesterday.

Today,, I have my eye appointment :wee
I will be so nice to have the right prescription. So I plan on perusing costco after.

Chick clutch #1 is 11 weeks old, #2 is 10 weeks and #3 is 7,

Have a great morning :caf

Wow! That was a busy couple of days of hard work! You must be exhausted. :bow I don't know how you do it. "Grandma" must be a relative term in your case.
