Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I worked on trying to get my Ryobi weed eater working right today. Took it apart, cleaned the carburetor and spark plug. It started right up.

But then it started dripping gas out of the air intake again, so I ordered a new carburetor using my new Walmart+ membership. $13, free shipping. Nice!

All the leaves on the garlic plants are yellowing, lowest leaves are dead. I'll dig up the remaining 15 bulbs tomorrow morning when it's cool outside.

I'm going to chop some of the garlic in the food processor, mix it with olive oil and freeze it in small containers. That's something I saw on YouTube.

I'll save the largest bulbs for planting this fall.

I have the large one it keeps the house at 70 also keeps the other rooms same temperature.
Decided to make burgers at home with home fries and cauliflower.
I had to turn mine up! 70 is too cold when it's over 90 outside. Too much contrast. Might even turn it up higher by Monday or Tuesday.

So envious of the garlic garden!!!

I added around 10 cloves of my garlic to something I made yesterday, I guess I'd call it taco seasoned beef and veggies. (h.burger, new potatoes, garlic, giant green onions, pack of taco seasoning)

I tried some of the garlic raw and it tasted like Russian Red garlic is supposed to, kind of spicy/hot. Here it is drying on the back deck. The largest heads will provide seed for this fall.

One of my chickens had a nasty, poopy butt for the last couple days. I noticed one of the other chickens pecking at it so I decided to clean it up this morning.

I was a little concerned about fly strike, but saw no sign of maggots. There were quite a few feathers missing below the vent. I guess they were being pulled out (and probably eaten...YUK!) by the other chicken.

I wrapped her up in a towel, laid her on her side and cleaned her up with warm water poured from a half-gallon milk jug. I was able to scrub most of the gunk off.

I'm keeping her separated from the rest of the flock for the rest of the day. Hopefully she'll get her clean, fluffy butt back and the other chicken will quick pickin'.

I'm glad it's going to be cooler after today. I managed the heat pretty well without having to use the air conditioner in my RV.
