Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Due to DH health I only planted tomatoes last spring. I had arugula come up from 2023 and that nice green patch I left is all arugula.
I didnt want to waist my garlic so I put it on the corner of the bed by the wormwood. I planted it as soon as the soil wasn't frozen, never covered it. It is still out there I didnt pull it up.
To the far right are some of my herb plants and across the front is a small herb bed. By the plow is a fig tree.

This is in Oct. when I cleaned the bed

I am still contemplating on what I will do this spring
Great looking garden!!

We took the straw off the garlic garden and spread it in the chicken run. Made them happy. There are garlic shoots coming up. Didn't disturb those. Some of the grass rooted into the ground, so we will have to keep a close eye on that. I understand garlic doesn't like competition.

On another note, I have 2 varieties of cookies baked and boxed up ready for shipping. Two to go tomorrow and Tuesday. Shipping Wednesday.

Today's cookie was jam thumbprints, our favorites. Unfortunately after I packed up all the ones for shipping, 7 dozen, there were only 4 cookies left, so on Thursday I'll make more of that one.

@pennyJo1960 I'm not making angle fingers this year. I discovered a new recipe, for Tiramisu cookies, that will replace those. Believe it or not they are even better!!!

ETA: I've made angel fingers every year for over 50 years!!

I'm glad your garlic is coming up. I wonder if the grass is oats growing from the straw? Did you come up with a different type of mulch for the garlic bed?
Shredded fir mulch. The grass is definitely the straw growing. 😠 But we will keep on top of it for the sake of the garlic.
