Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I've seen the pretty black and white barred ones. I hatched chicks from some silkies I'd got from justbugged. The person she got the eggs from apparently had several different colors in their pen. Blue rooster over what I thought was just a splash hen gave me a blue, a splash, a cream colored, and a blue barred. The blue barred one is a boy. This explains the pigment holes in his mothers skin. She's apparently a barred splash.

I don't want the blue barred, but that is easy enough to get rid of.

Have I just po'd everybody under the sun or something? I was all excited last night to share my news about getting my coop & pen expansion done... early even... Posted pics, too. And did I get a congrats or a thumbs up from anybody? Nada, zilch, zero.

Geeez we might have been on the same stretch of hiway last night. But not to worry my place is guarded !!! Besides Queen Jeanine got the last of the ribs.
Well I'll have to check in next time I head South then. Felt like I was driving around in circles. Oh yah I was!

I would love to go to that talk on the 21st, and bring my in-cool-bator genius of a hubby along.

. It's only 30 minutes from our place- and easy access from hwy 18.
Our in-cool-bator is almost perfectly dialed in, thanks to RobJ who suggested a dimmer switch on the 25 watt bulb.

Glad the dimmer worked. What's the 21st did I not see something? Man I slow at this forum thing ,but I gettin better.

Oh that's no good

, I am sorry. I did not even see the pics and I have been keeping up all day from my phone. But one thing I am noticing is that when I hop on this site on my phone some times it skips me ahead a page or two. But I don't always notice. I will go back and try to see if I can find it.

I hate to stab the cat, when it is already dead but..... Congrats on getting it done and early as you pointed out!

Of course, I told him I'd only need to get two black girls, and since the silkies take so little room, that wasn't bad.
There are some breeders that have been doing that project for a few years now, it is hard to see the barring because of the Silkied feathers, but they do look interesting.

Me personally, I love Blue Barred. My orphan from my own hatch is Blue Ghost Barred. You can only see his barring in certain light. He has beautiful dark blue lacing too. I can't wait til he is full sized. He has the pink skin and purple shanks of his Splash Orp dad and the barring gene from his momma. I will be curious to see which body type he ends up with, Orp or Rock. I am hoping to some day to get some real Blue Barred Rocks from halo or Robert Blosl.

I saw it this morning before I went to bed, I was just skimming over posts as not to get too far behind. Then, yes I did forget to comment about it. I am glad you were able to double your coop space and your birds will thank you for it.

Sorry I Don't have any or they would sure be made available for you. I did just see somebody that hatched biut don't remember who.
Thanks CR, I appreciate the thought, and it would have been great to have an excuse to pop down and see you, Diane and Quincy again.
