Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hi there! I am throwing a baby shower in a couple of hours so I don't have time to catch up. But had a couple of things to let you all know.

1. The vet I take my animals to, Dr. Bruce at Crossroads Vet, has chicks coming next week and he only wants to keep a few. Would like to sell the rest. I think he said he ordered Welsummers, Ameraucana/EE's, Gold Sexlink and black Sexlinks. He is only keeping a few of the Welsummers. And I think he ordered 10 of each except the sexlinks he ordered 5 of each color. Let me know if you are interested and I can give you his email.

2. I emailed Mark Dooms who is in charge of the Monroe show and he got back to me today. He says it fine if we want to have a potluck like last year. So plan away!

I so love my English orpington, they are so much fun to watch run around the pasture, love the fluffy butts and how they waddle. I'm really happy with all my breeds now nice dark eggs from my BCM and never had a mean rooster, same with the . Orpington s now too, had a nasty one last year that went. I'm waiting to see how the CL rooster s are going to be, the one I have that came from Green fire farms he's a bit of a handful. But my younger one is nice so have to wait and see.
Sorry just love my birds.

NOT in love with the rain..

How big do the CCL roosters get? I may add one to the pullet chicks I am getting Monday from AyeUpChuck. If they are not too big that is. Prolly gonna be getting rid of my Orp rooster. He is just too big(12+lbs) and I have all my girls in saddles. He is 50% English HinkJC line, super fluffy. Enough so I have to trim around his vent so he mates easier.

Tarp over the run pulled loose in the wind (on one corner only). We got a very nice sun break here in Rockchester so I went out and made the necessary fixem upem.

Rain here also blew sideways today. Not only from the S but from the E which is unusual where I am. Now the litter in the run is damp, nuts. More work.

Hey there fellow peeps,

Someone suggested I post my "need" online. I've got a shed I need to get moved tomorrow . It's 8 foot wide, so it's not going to fit on many trailers because most are 7 1/2 foot wide.

I can rent a bigger truck and a trailer, but I'd rather pay a person than a corporation. We've got a plan, we just don't have the equiptment.

Does anyone have a low trailer that an 8 foot shed could fit on, and do they want to help out? I'd make it worth your while, I am sure

I gotta move the shed tomorrow.

If so, PM me!

Hey- how about a car hauler-?? does anyone know someone who races cars and wants to make some bucks?

Geese were one animal my hubby really doesn't want and I was skeptical about....until I read more about them. It sounds like they are quite economical and not usually as aggressive as their reputation suggests!
Well, geese are my favourite birds BUT, and it's a biggy, they can be agressive to other birds. We had to get rid of ours, because in breeding season, the gander killed a number of "competing" ducklings. He was protecting his goose I know, but we had a lot of losses of babies because of it. So, if you can keep them separate, they can be wonderful. I really miss mine.
