Not Me!! I'm glad you have such a good sense of humor!!!

Good Morning!!!!

Extension ladder will get you to the bottom, of the upstairs window.

This was January................it is 3 feet from the ground, to the first floor doorjamb...............so @ 12' to the loft floor, @15' to the upper window sill.............no way can we reach the tippy top.
I am wondering about building some kinda cat walk outside that window......................
hmm.png

The green ladder you see in the loft, is a 12 footer........
The old homes with the hip roofs had a main beam at the top that stuck out. You could and my Dad did suspend from it to paint and do repairs. Could you cut an access to attic, then add a top vent on the end near the peak for this?
Great build by the way! I can't wait to see the finished product or nearly finished- are we ever realy finished?

Hello All,

I'm in Tacoma. Just getting started with 4 Rhode Island Reds. Here are 2 of my girls chilling under the giant rhubarb. More photos to come

Welcome! Sweet little girls and a great picture.
I was going to say that you might want to avoid the rhubarb, but...... see post below..... Chickielady generally knows all the right stuff.

Anyway...

My chickens ate every shred of my rhubarb, and it finally died...................
hmm.png

Wow.... I thought rhubarb leaves are poisonous. I was going to tell HereChikyChiky to be cautious. Really????

Sure you can convert one of these and live in it yourself, but come on, you've already got a place to live! Don't you think maybe your chickens would appreciate nice digs like this?

Wow.... can you drop one of those off at my house! Please? Finished of course.

I don't know how big a baby goat is, but they make clothing specifically for keeping newborns and preemies skin to skin, a baby wrap or sling works just as well though: http://rhodymamas.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Screen-Shot-2013-01-22-at-3.41.22-PM.png

I've used them for kittens

And here I thought I was kidding! Very cute!

It's such a nice day out today already! I am very excited because I have Belgian Bearded D'Anver & Cochin babies popping out like popcorn this morning!!!

I love the visual that goes with that! Pop -- Pop -- pop pop -- Pop with little chicks flying right out into the bowl!

Some problem - My multi-quote wont let me reply between the the quotes. will only let my cursor go above, or inside the quote itself? What am I doing wrong? any ideas hopefully.

Oh, Oh, Oh....  I know what to do with the tiny one if he's not thriving....   well, I should say that Laughing Feather knows what to do, right Kathy????
Sew a pocket on your bra and keep it next to your body!!!   Does wonders for struggling little guys!  :ya

You KNOW I'm just kidding!   That's for baby chooks, not baby goats!   But I just HAD to say it!

Hope he gets stronger and grows up to be a healthy little guy!

Bahahaha! I know I was crazy enough to try it with a chicken but a goat?can you imagine trying to walk? I can see it now. All hunched over from the weight with a goat dangling between your knees. Hahaha. Aww good stuff.

Hi everyone,

I am new to this thread, and want to introduce myself. I live in Olympia aka Mudtown. A sorta complete overview of my posse:

Porcelain d'Uccles (4 hens, 1 cock)
Chocolate Bantam Orpingtons (trio)
White Japanese Bantams (duo)
Mottled Black and Blue d'Uccles (5 pullets waiting for a quality Mottled or Black cock)
Bantam Phoenix cock named Brewster - he's the best boy with the ladies!
Black LF Cochin cock - who gets to oversee whomever Brewster doesn't
Citron Spangled Hamburg - lost his 2 ladies in the winter cold and wet, but eggs are in the bator hopefully developing!
Big assortment of random cocks who are off to freezer camp, maybe today
Cornish-X chicks - you know where they are headed eventually!
In the bators are Swedish Flowers, Nankins, Orpington ducks, Ameraucanas (sp?) and a few others I can't remember, plus my own eggs
Pilgrim geese
variety of ducks, I love the Muscovy best for their personalities and looks
Narragansett turkeys (2 hens and 1 tom) plus a lone Bourbon Red whom I keep cuz she's pretty and a great layer!
Rabbits! Rabbits everywhere! Zomygosh, anyone want meat rabbits?

I do actually have meat rabbits for sale or trade, with the oldest babies just about ready to go - maybe another week for fryers?
Turkey eggs for sale or trade! Too many to eat/incubate! Help!
Edited to add: I also have Porcelain d'Uccle eggs to sell off and on, when they haven't already been promised.

2 1/2 YO Belgian/QH cross red roan filly "Gaia"

2 of my best friends, "Oliver" and "Harriet", my black cats

A brand new baby puppy "Hank" as in "Hank the Cowdog". Love that series! Anyone with kids or a goofy sense of humor should look for them at the Library. I especially like the tapes as the author reads and he's got a great narrator voice.

Wow, I'm exhausted.....

So, Hi yall!

Hello CoffeeKittie! Nice to see you again!

I agree with Honeysuckle Hills, everyone here would adore your puppy, feel free to post pictures!

(CoffeeKittie was nice enough to meet me when I was down in Olympia for some bantam eggs for Blueberry! Now she is sitting on 4 Porcelin d'Uccle eggs, and 3 batam EEs! Due to hatch May 12 - for Mother's Day!!!

Hello wanted to come by and introduce myself. I'm in Central Point, WA (by Montesano) and am new to chickens. I just got me 7 little buff Orpington girls and would love to find them a rooster. I also have my first batch of duck eggs in the incubator due to hatch end of this week, I'm a nervous wreck waiting.

Welcome to the WA thread! I don't have a Buff Orpington rooster, but I have a Light Sussex if you're interested!

Welcome to the WA thread! Super cute chicks!

I remember when he did this on TV in 1969. It still brings me to tears. Such a simple, beautiful performance by my favorite Mr. Red Skelton. And God Bless......
The Pledge Of Allegiance and what it means

That was great! Thank you for sharing!! So strange elders were so aware they would try and take away the meaning of this Nation.....

welcome-byc.gif
And to the WA thread. This is a great group. But be warned things here tend to move a bit fast at times. IF by chance you post and nobody replies. It's NOT because you're not welcome or that nobody cares. It IS most likely that the ones who know the answer to your question have not seen it yet. I would say IF yer questions go a day without reply. Please ask again.
x100!!!!

And don't go calling people nazi's because you don't get an answer!

We had a barn like that, there was a beam that extended out a ways and the guys used a pully/hoist system to get up there or to get big things (Uncle's Ultralite) in the loft area.
