Here's the questionable one:

It hasn't changed in 3 days, no visible movement and it's lost more weight than the others. About 20%.

So that's the same egg in all 3 pictures? It's the one egg that's in question?
Thanks for posting these, it's educational for all of us. I haven't done any incubating yet.

oops... sorry, you did say it was the questionable one.

There always seem to be eggs. Often times people will arrange with the breeders, before the show, to bring the eggs they want to buy. I think the barn opens about 8 or 9. Do you have a breed you're looking for?

Is anyone in this group taking hatching eggs to Monroe?
How about chicks?
If so, what breeds?

Hello all! I'm new to this site and a newer to raising chickens. I have made it through my first year with my girls. I love them so! I live in the spanaway graham area and wonder if anyone knows what breeds of chicks the local feed stores are getting in and when? I'm looking to expand my flock already and very excited for new babies!

Welcome!

You're over near me.

Just sharing a pic, my babies arrived today in the mail i'm so happy they all survived shipping And yes their water is red, When i first get chicks I have better luck with them when I give them Powerade or similar drink mixed with water first.

In tumwater i asked dels farm supply when they get theirs in they said not until March. Good luck, Anytime i've gotten them from feed stores they've died.

I was just getting ready to post and ask how the new babies were settling in. Awesome. I love little chicks.

My silkies will be two weeks tomorrow and aren't quite as cute anymore.

Leia the cat likes to watch the chicks. Mama knows it and knows where the cat can get to. The little chirp squeeks are fast. I have a hard time catching them now unless they are under mama. I'm trying to handle each of them some every day so that they are a bit human friendly at least.

all but one of them is doing great. One is hopefully just a little more tired then the rest. It just keeps trying to sleep and not doing anything else. Kinda worried about it.
If it's not moving around by tonight as much as the others i'm going to give it honey water.
