Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Lady FINALLY came off the nest box! She was so stubborn...she sat for a full 8 weeks trying to hatch NOTHING! I was lugging over the wire pen to set her up in to try and break this and she hopped out and hasn't even gone back to the nest to lay, she used the milk crate "nest" on the floor instead of getting back in the wall-mounted box. I was really getting worried about her, but she finally snapped out of it and is back to acting like her "normal" self. During her :I want to have babies" phase, my scissor beaked EE started laying as well! She lays a beautiful olive green egg! I now have 3 blue egg layers, 2 green layers, 1 dark brown layer, 2 white layers, and 5 light brown layers.

Our 2022 chicks arrived today! This was our first time mail ordering chicks directly from a hatchery vs. buying them a physical feed store. We went to the wrong USPS in our town at first 🤦‍♀️ I was super worried after our recent below-freezing cold snap that some might not make it, but all 8 arrived safe and sound and are now actively eating/drinking/peeping away.

We got a few extra from the hatchery and are planning to sell 2-4, so if anyone's interested in Splash Ameracaunas or Splash Laced Wyandottes in the greater Seattle area, feel free to DM!

Anyone have good suggestions for a chicken safe mouse trap? I let my girls rule the whole yard, so need one that won't injure or harm the girls. Mice have been digging around their run- coop. Not into the live, humane trap and release type. Sorry to offend anyone who might be.
