Hey, does anyone know why Feathersite stopped being updated? It's a great resource, but sort of a work in process, and it's been just over a year (Oct 11, 2011) since its last update.

Gotta go...DH just saw a 8 point out standing STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID in the driveway.
Called me to get the guns out...and off he went out of breath.
IT IS A MONSTER he says~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So guess I gott a go for now.

Congratuations, and my deepest and most sincere envy (although I sort of prefer spikes for cooking purposes).

I would love to know this, myself! A lot of the links are broken on its pages, too.

I am constantly referring folks to that page, and have spent HOURS on there, myself, drooling over different breeds.

Great! That terrier looks like it needs an owner who knows dogs.

I'm never sure, any morning these days, that I'm not going to wake up to a big hole to dig; there's nothing wrong with either dog, minus arthritis and vision problems, but they are old-old, Griz will be 16 in December and Ruby (who's half Chesepeake Bay Retriever, and whose mother died at 9 1/2) will be 15 in February.

My baby brother.......is very Scott !!!!!!!!!!!! His name is Scot, and raises Scotties !
Shown here with Bridie.....a gorgeous energentic part of our family.

Oh, cute (both of 'em!)

CL...  I hope you know I was saying that Tongue-In-Cheek!  ;)    And yes, I'd love to see pics of an 8 pointer, it must have been quite a sight!

ETA    Oh...   viola!   Next post has the pic!

This boy is big !
Heart & liver the size of a small beef.................I helped drag him to the level, hauled him onto a tarp, tied down (raining buckets) hauled to the level after cutting the blackberries he lay in (then after walking back & getting the van...put guns in the van....hauled the buck out with the lawn mower tractor (again) and then DH & I hoisted him in the trailer (attached to the van) and hauled him home.
Then hung him, I skinned & gutted and have the heart & lver here  and in the freezer.
I skinned him down to his arm pits and then said FI...You do the rest !!!
DH is a crack shot, but a city boy...and does not have a clue how to skin/gut/hang....................so, after I skinned him to his arm pits I said FI & I am going to bed !!!
(As soon as I pass the tick inspection, that is !!) There was some trophy ticks on this boy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Added: 8 points is a 4x4.....some older bucks can have 5 on one side & 3 or 4 on the other...this is an old buck....for a blacktail...

Nice fat boy he was, too.

Did you see Disney bought Lucasfilm? Some of the pics of Disney chars dressed as Star Wars chars was to cute.

My husband and son were talking about that.  My son is SO EXCITED there's going to be a new movie.  Now that he has something to look forward to in the years ahead, I have a feeling the Star Wars phase is not going to go away... :he   My kids will probably never speak proper English.  Talk like Yoda, they will.

I guess none of my oldest's favorites have gone away anyway...  he's still very much into trains, LEGOs, along with Star Wars.  Well, maybe one obsession has - he's not the Spiderman freak like he used to be.  And, the last couple of years has brought about a love for planes.

Have any of you ever chased a train?  It's crazy the things we do for our kids.  My oldest son is incredibly obsessed with trains.  Check out the photos I took of an old steam engine we chased through Auburn, Kent, Maple Valley and back through Auburn again quite a while back.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/imaginationgarden/sets/72157627048526224/   The day we did that I thought we were crazy to spend an entire day chasing a train!  But, my kids had so much fun doing it - I'd do it again just for them. I didn't post the pictures online of my kids with it, even though we got some great photos of them with the train in the background - or the funny pictures of my kid and other train chasers with a sign "Do not enter" in the foreground.  They followed an older train buff into an area they weren't supposed to be in.  Yes, we got them out of there, but not before snapping photos.  I killed my camera that day - accidentally smacked it against the vehicle as I hopped out to get more shots of the train.

Hey Ren -- there is an old steam train you can take from -- Elba, I think it is -- close to Morton.  Really nifty old ride, great view of Rainier when the weather is nice.

Elbe. Which also has the best old-style burger joint around (Scale Burger) and a dinky teeny-tiny church, but no easily accessible public restrooms, unless that's finally changed.

Quote: Thank you! I think he's adorable, but then I'm biased. LOL I miss them, too. We didn't have any this year, but we usually only have a couple. We live on a busy street, and I think most people go to the mall or one of the other big events to trick or treat. I don't know if it was leaving our main porch light on a motion sensor (the other two on the porch were lit, though) or the chop saw and nail gun sounds from the garage that scared them away....
Quote: I'm thinking of using a wooden cage with an acrylic (plexi glass) front door and vents on the ends and top. I'd put a good heat lamp on top and cut a hole for a chicken door in the acrylic. During the day I'd let them out in the secure pen, but they would be locked up at night so they'd be near the heat. Is a 4X2X1.5 brooder too small?

Jennifer
