Found a good web site:

Even explains, if you have to do it, how to do a "surgery" to remove it. I am going to go check her right now. I will bring her in the house. Sheesh...my spare bedroom is turning into a triage room for birds.

eta: Thank you.

eta: Well that was just the craziest of things. Gave her 3 or 4 droppers of warmed up olive oil. massaged the crop. I could feel it dicipate. It is gone. She still had it when I brought her to the triage room (spare bedroom). I even had DH feel it. Felt like she had swallowed a couple of golf balls - hard as a rock. She is even acting better already. She fluffed up and preened some .... then sat there and looked at me.... looking much more comfortable. Will leave her in triage room for a couple of days and give her soft food. It was weird...you could feel it break up in her crop as you massaged it.

AWESOME!!!!!

You are doing just fine and you will do just fine.
You have at least another 18 more years to go...take lots of pictures and just enjoy the ride with her.

You'll make mistakes, but every parent does. Kids usually survive them.

And please remember that kids BOUNCE! Its not a joke. Don't freak out every time he falls down, or every time he bumps his little head! The more you react to things like this, the more he will freak out when they happen. Its hard trust me I know! But you will both be better for it!

You will do just fine momma! Enjoy your little guy, because they do grow up VERY fast!

I don't really know about other things, I've never had to treat impacted crop before, those are the only treatments I have read about, the olive oil and then if that doesn't work....surgery.

DH is back to work on Monday. We'll see if I'm cut ou for this 'Mommy' business.

I will admit that the first day was very rough....I was still not 100% after my c-section and near-death experience....BUT it does get better. Especially once you establish some routines...

Sylvia has moulted all her neck feathers; it's quite...Halloween appropriate.

I have much to do today but yesterday was such a slog that it's not going to get done quickly- very fatigued, to say the least. The daughter has changed bedding for The Nine, and she and DH are off to Costco for various small things while I do the first round of outside chores. Assuming he ever gets his breakfast eaten.

ALL hunters can legally wear camo...........but ALL hunters, muzzleloaders or archery, MUST have Safety Orange vest/hat on in the field.
Period.
Even when we bow hunt we MUST wear safety orange.
My Dad calls it "Glo-Winkie Orange"
All shooters of everything shootible must wear glo-winkie!

Please check page 13 of the WDFW game booklet Under the following conditions a minimum of 400 square
inches of fluorescent hunter orange exterior clothing
is required. It must be worn above the waist and be
visible from all sides. A hat, by itself, does not meet this
requirement.
Anyone hunting deer or elk during any modern firearm deer or elk general
season is required to wear fluorescent hunter orange clothing. All modern
firearm permit holders must wear fluorescent hunter orange clothing. This
includes archers and muzzleloaders while hunting in units (e.g. GMUs,
Deer, Areas, Elk Areas, Wilderness Areas, etc...) that overlap modern
firearm seasons.
Anyone hunting in an area that is open for modern firearm deer or elk
hunting must meet hunter orange requirements if they are hunting any
of the following species: Bear, Bobcat, Cougar, Coyote, Deer, Elk, Fox,
Grouse, Hare, Rabbit, or Raccoon.
During any upland game bird season, anyone hunting upland game birds
or rabbits with a modern firearm is required to wear fluorescent hunter
orange clothing. (Grouse are not upland game birds.)
Hunter Orange Clothing is Not Required:
During an upland game bird season for anyone hunting upland game
birds with a muzzleloading firearm, bow and arrow, or for falconry.
While hunting in a muzzleloading or archery only GMU and possessing a
valid muzzleloading or archery deer or elk tag.

That is why we wear the darned glo winkie vest.
There was 3 guys hiding in brush 2 properties over yesterday.........3 shots fired.
I worry cuz not many know we are here, surrounded by trees....
Makes me feel like I should have the glo-winkie orange vest on all the time.............
