Hubby's comment was Niiiicccceeeeee. This is a for real comment - he is impressed. I was going to ask if the bright colors was to be able to see you out in the sand, but the DH just verified that this is why you do the bright colors. Looks fun.

He is definately lucky! I'm very glad he didn't take his entire hand... Sheesh!!! The kid is an up and coming welder, he works on halibut and crab boats, and logs with my unkle... If he would have amputated his entire hand, he would have had to rethink his career choices. lol Its a HUGE relief to know that he is "ok" My aunt is still histericle, but I can understand.

So now I am exhausted. Time for bed. G'night everyone.

Night sweetie, and remember that without the thumb, you are but a lower life form: like a dog or cat ...we are happy tonight, and so glad he is ALIVE!!!
If I were you, I would still grab him and spank him hard for scaring us all so bad.
And are they going to sew it back on ???
I cut all 3 of my 4 fingers off on the right hand, the index half through.
I had to have microsurgery to tie the tendons all back together, out of 3 C-sections, and hysterectomon-eee, and others, the tendonal hand surgery is the worst, most painful in my life.
And it barely works, yet I still paint my watercolors....y'all should see the elk, and other paintings 1, 2 and grand prize at the fair...on display at Bank of the Pacific in Raymond.
The reason I can still paint, is that the forefinger works halfway, and most important, the thumb works fine.
Thumbs, seperate us from all living animals but racoons, monkeys and the like !!

Oh yes! Thankfully they were able to reatach his thumb. What I don't get is... How in the world did that boy manage to cut off his thumb while splitting rounds of wood... When I split up rounds, I sure as heck don't get my hands in the way... I think I could understand easier if he was chopping kindling with a hatchet... Because then your hand IS in close proximaty to the blade. But most people, when swinging an ax hold the ax by the handle with "dare I say it" BOTH HANDS! That may make me sound unsensitive, but COME ON!!! This accident was so very preventable. And to top it off, the dumb boy was as high as a kite... On what I have NO idea, but he is lucky to have kept his thumb.

Can you tell I'm not the coddleing type? lol I will fret over an adult until I know they will survive. Little kids are the ones that I fret over, not adults.

Your watercolorpaintings are wonderful, I think I remember about 20-30 pages ago you had posted progress of the elk painting. Makes me wish I hadn't quit painting 11 years ago. lol

He may still have to rethink them, if he has a limited grip in one hand.

I have no idea how long the healing process will take, but I do know that his P.T. for his hand is going to take a while and wont be easy. Luckily he is still young, and should bounce back from this with little problem. But until then, we have no idea how much "use" he will have from his thumb...

So strange. My BLRW pullet seems fine this morning!

She was stressing out big time being seperated from her group, so I put her back in her coop last night. This morning she's running around completely normal!!!! Still no first egg though.....don't think I'll relax until she's finally layed and I will be a nervous nelly until then!!!! So weird too how we totally saw something protruding out of her vent, and then on her own, she sucked it back in?!? Very bizarre. Anyway, I'm very happy, I was dreading checking on her this morning!
