We got our chicks on Saturday from Monroe farm and feed after all. They have an amazing selection just like I'd heard.
We got a Buff Orpington, Black Australorp, and Ameraucana.

Did I do that image right?...

It's been a busy few weeks at Naughty Chickens Farm. We have babies coming out of our ears.

15 3-4 week old button quail still in a "brooder type kennel," 6 chicks and a gosling in the big brooder, 20ish chicks in the shed, 15 chicks and 7 turkeys coming from Cackle tomorrow, and 68 quail eggs set in the 'bator due to hatch Saturday. Our Black Japanese hen has gone broody and I've let her keep 5 to sit on. All the banty eggs I've cracked in the past 3 days have been fertile, so I know Wasabi (our roo) is doing his job.

And.. I'm saving my pink, blue and olive EE eggs to set after those quail hatch

Should get some interesting combos, considering daddy is an EE as well.

Of course now I'm worried my turkey might decide to lay again, in which case, well, I would just HAVE to buy another incubator. Darn.

Okay, I'm done now. Somebody stop me

They sold me an Ameraucana. So I have an Ameraucana.

i wish i could have a guina hen... mom thinks they are ugly... i think their faces are but the feathers are cool....

its alright guys... just wishful thinking.

so my brahma broody is not as dilligent as the banty silky/pheonix... her eggs are hot while the brahma's are not, some are. but i am having a hard time deciding if the hen is pushing the eggs out of the nest because it knows they are quitters or if she is a bad hen....i rotate them back in...... the ee eggs (2) are too dark to see. some eggs i can see the yolk while others seem like this giant dark mass that floats as i rotate the egg......

its raining here and the chickens went to bed 2 hours early..... i got 12 eggs today.

It's a happy day for me (can ya tell). The swelling has finally started to go down. Toady part of my leg actually has that normal dull pink skin look to it that will actually move around rather than the shiny tight look it has had for the past several days.

Justbugged I suppose you going to claim that you missed the imaginary curve during our imaginary road trip to have breakfast with Weaveagarden nearly killing me and my REAL life buddy Ron because you couldn't see through the imaginary cloud of smoke.
