Off of 25 tomatoe plants I only got 4 tomatoes... All but one plant shrivled up and died weeks ago. The last one is starting to give up the goast, but has a buch of fruit just waiting to ripen. So it is now hanging in the garage to finish, with a padded trough under it to catch any that might fall.

I make dill pickles out of the green tomatoes that get left on the vine.. but then I've got a very green (or is that red) tomatoe thumb and don't get very many left at end season.

I must have the recipe !!!!!

He's just in the maintenance stage now...no more turning the palate-expander, but he does get his braces tightened on Thursday and we're hoping by Christmas that the palate-expander gets to come out!

So between that and our house remodel and work and my chickens...it's been busy this past few months!!!

Chickielady - Beautiful catch!

I can't wait until next year. . . We'll be catching fish from our own backyard. . . Fish that will be feeding our plants.

(We'll be converting our gardens to Aquaponics - Kinda like hydroponics, but it actually is efficient and eco-friendly

Yikes! That doesn't sound fun. My oldest had the pallet expander thing in 4th grade, and my youngest probably will need it this year.

That sounds cool...I'd love to see pics when it's all done! We don't have enough water here to do that....but it sounds interesting!

Well honestly the beautiful thing about it is that you use very little water. It is a closed system, so there's no adding any water - just enough to fill the fish tank and some extra to flow through the pipes, so when the water channels to the growbeds, the fishtank won't go too low. The water will go back and forth, and thus not much is needed - It depends on how big of a tank you want/how much you want to grow. It is actually a perfect idea in gardening for arid places.

Hi Robin,

I am sooooooooooooooooo jealous!

I am hoping the day will come soon when I can get out and start wetting a line again. Shucks, I'd be happy just to have the time to sit down and the flytying table or even read one of my many magazines that I'm behind on!

God Bless,

Okay, now I'm even more interested!
