Oh, all the photos of Mr. Buns is so cute. I used to have a rabbit I had on a harness too. His name was Popcorn and was a white French Lop. He was my show rabbit. Did well with him, loved showing.

I completely understand the dilemma. This getting older is not for sissies. I hate that a little bit of weeding in the garden, will cause me to barely function for days. I also am rather put out with myself for not being able lift 50lb sacks, like I could just 10 years ago.

There is always the hand truck and the truck. I try to use tools to do the hard work now. I just bought a really simple tool to help me unload dirt off the truck. Makes the work doable. It turns the truck bed into a conveyor belt of sorts and when I crank on a simple handle off the tail gate, the dirt that is sitting on the fabric that the crank rolls up, falls into my wheel barrel and Off I go. I have a very small load in the barrel, but more trips is doable for me, big & heavy loads isn't. So 2 yards later, I'm still going. Last year, with out the loader, I was at the chiropractor quite a bit. I got frozen shoulder and messed up back & neck.
Tools. Got to love em.

thanks Cl make's since, but the fan should blow away from the eggs as to not dry them out. Thats what Ive always heard..

Mine blows down, right on a margarine dish with water, pulling the heat with it.
There is also a hole, plugged with a red plastic cork on the lid, and the fan is installed underneath it.
At lockdown they say to open both red plugs.
I only open one all the way and the fan one halfway .
We originally installed the fan blowing up, and of course all it did was blow all the heat & humdity right out of the hole.

So then we read the directions, and turned it around..the dish of water under the fan produces the perfect amount of humidity..no sponge.
No wire in the bottom either, just paper towels & lay the eggs down, fan blows on the margarine cup of water also prevents chicks from getting into the fan.
The little giant is really too shallow!
I also added a circle of hardware wire around the margarine cup under the fan,,I was afraid someday a chick would fall in the water.
So, this works really well.

I still hate how darned touchy the LG is!!!

Oh that makes since thank you so much. Will have to do it. They are really touchy things.. I just use mine to hatch in that way it keeps the big one clean and I dont have to up the humidity..

We have styrofoam and my husband take's his drill and makes a whole that will fit the egg and than we place it inside. I put that into a box and make sure it wont move around inside. We have never knock on wood had a egg break and the hatch is always pretty good.

I've got a neighbor with emus, and they are as much work as cows but need fenced like chickens, only stronger (all his fences are highway grade cyclone fence), with the added attraction of having no personality except extreme unpleasantness. All though it is amusing, several times a year, to watch the juvenile Bald Eagles get their first close look at a full grown emu.

Im glad to hear it..

With the warmer weather starting to come on and more sun light I am getting more eggs. The BCMs are laying everyother day...good for me. I just was watching Tyson (bantam roo) making the move on Emily. She started "nuzzling" him on the back of the head. Not sure what that was all about. Crazy birds.
