Great job on bargaining. It's a great skill to have. Most of the time I will ask for a discount if I think I have a chance. I have had a few clerks get nasty, but for the most part, I can get some sort of discount. I did it a Home Depot, for some insulation. There were 2 sheets of the stiff foam insulation sheets that had damaged sides. I asked if they would discount them for me. They did, and both me and the girls are happy.

The works are supposed to be cleaned yearly. I learned that about 8 years after we bought our clock. It isn't cheap to have the clocks clean professionally. The cuckoo clock that I bought in 1982, when I was in Austria. The clock now needs a whole new clock works. DH can replace it for me, as soon as I buy the works. It just hasn't been a priority so far.

You can't beat a modern clock for time keeping. I have those, too. It's not important to me that the old ones keep time.

I agree! I love my Atomic clock. At least I always know what time it really is. The rather expensive Cuckoo clock we bought in Germany in 2004 has never kept good time. Even the clock shop couldn't get it adjusted perfectly. I don't really care if it keeps time right. I just like the sound of the Cuckoo.

That's disappointing.

Robin someone posted previously that it appears to be time for the younger generation to step up, I am sorry he is that way, I am older then rain but I know when it is raining, and when something else is going on, he is too tunnel visioned.

I am sorry to hear about Dave Sherwood, I spent many years on S&R in MI, and was expecting this, but still hoping.

We had 4" of new snow yesterday morn, with more forcast, they were right, I now have over 24" on the new goat/chicken house roof. Tonight its also supposed to drop into the low teens or single digits.

Tis the season.

Life is good !

Oops...that last comment was for the email that CL got.

I've been incubating 6 eggs from Marcy and a dozen fertile eggs from Whole Foods. I didn't really expect them all to hatch. I think several of the WF ones look promising, so it's not a failed experiment yet.

Our smallest bantam araucana only pops up in the morning and occasionally the afternoon. It's been over a month now that she's been doing that and still is alive somehow managing the predators and cool weather.

It's possible.

I hear you. I have been through some months where walking around a store simply is not going to happen. I am still limited to what kind of store I can tolerate shopping. Most are to big. So I either shop online or at stores with motorized carts. Nerve damage in a persons feet is not much fun.

I know that I dropped just over 200 on the critters today. Teddy needed to see the dog doctor Miss Becky. Teddy has a very itchy behind, and also is congested. I think it's allergies. If I can re-home some puppies this weekend. I think I am going to put the group back on raw food. The raw food is the best, but it is cost prohibitive for 5 little dogs and 1 giant dog. Poor Puppy has cataracts now. This wxplains why he has been running into things. DH shaved the hair off of his face. I know it helps.

My first earthquake was a 6.5 when I was ten; Mrs. Picket's class. It didn't scare me. Earthquakes still don't scare me. A tornado would probably terrify me, but who knows.

I must say that tornadoes are much more scary than things like earthquakes an eruptions. Tornadoes seem to sneak up on you very fast and they do a lot of damage very fast. I was at work when the Nisqually hit. I made sure that my co worker was safe, and then ran home (1 mile) checked on my DS and the aquarium, plus the pond. I then grab my cell phone, and went back to work. We didn't have phone service at the bank, so I had to call security on the cell phone. It could have so much worse than it was.
