Hi everyone,
I'm trying water glassing eggs for the first time. They are all fresh (within a week or 10 days of laying). They seem to be floating however. Not entirely above the surface but bobbing.
Will this be a problem?

This is so unreliable as to be pointless. Plus it allows bacteria to enter the eggs through their pores. If something potentially does more harm than good, I don't do it.

Candling with a light is a much better and safer option. Just don't drop an egg doing it like I did once!

I’d use a weight to keep them down below the water line. A zip lock bag filled with water works great for that sort of thing.
Oh neat! Thank you. That's a nice, simple solution!
I don't know why they are bobbing up but nothing is wrong with them. I'm excited to see how well the preservation works.
