We made the front page again!

* Did I read that right?? They want 22O square feet of space for a single chicken and a DWARF rabbit???? Most kid's bedrooms are half that. These people are screwy, Sonia. . . I think I'd sue.

No they are saying that I wanted to take that much space from the living area of the downstairs (inside)....what i did was measure the dog crates that I had for them Which were stacked and really didn't take up that much room) and the dimensions of the porch outside.....they neglected to mention that.

* O.k., gotcha. Well, then-- at least they can't claim that you are cramping them. . .DH thinks the Kerr guy is hysterical and must of had a really scary scratch from a wriggling rabbit as a kid or some kind of "terrifying" bunny trauma that he never got over. . .

My daughter has just written a letter to the board of health I thought you guys might like to see it.

To whom it may concern,
My name is *********, an 11 year old little girl. I am the daughter of Sonia J. Farley. I am terribly missing my little dwarf bunny, 'Dogfood'. He is not 'unsanitary' and he is just fine around people and even small children of all ages. He just loves attention and to be cuddled. He has never bitten anyone and he's cleaner than me or my brothers and sisters. Yes, I love Dogfood and I always will. I know people that have litters and litters of bunnies every year. They sell some and keep one or two for pets and they live close to schools and parks. None of them ever escaped into any of the schools or even out of their cages without adult supervision. Why are you punishing us for what other people 'might' do may I ask? My bunny and my mother's chicken were quiet and we cleaned their cages every day. Their cages were in the house not on the porch. We only let them out on the porch when we were right there and no one ever tried to steal them so why would they start now? Mr. Lorenze saw how we kept them and said that the house and yard were clean and had no odors or animal waste. I am just one girl but I ask you to please reconsider your decision and let me keep my pets and leave us be. I ask to have my rabbit and my mother's bird back, please?

Sincerely,
*********

It's not legal to dictate what a person can own. Plain and simple. It's called the constitution, a right to privacy.
I would call their bluff and move the animals right back in. They don't have a legal leg to stand on.

Hi Sonia, I live up close to Corry (not in the city) and have to say, I am a bit surprised that Titusville is giving you as much problems as it is. I would have never believed them to be so "gentrified". I mean, it seems to me like they could spend a lot more of their time condemning houses that are falling down or fixing the roads than taking a pet away from a little girl.
