SONIA- is there a newstation in the town, or a fairly local one that we can contact about this? Obviously the newspaper is going to try their best to keep from looking like idiots here, and that will not get you the help that you need. You need to take this to the TV media. Who can we contact about this? You should also get a local animal rescue involved. They would have an interest in this, since (supposedly) you are having to "dump" your animals on whomever will take them. (I know this is NOT what you are doing, but if you didn't have contacts on this board, or people willing to take them, you would be forced to consider a rescue). Know that we are all behind you on this! Stay strong!

I have been reading this thread all day and I am still shaking my head over the stupidity of some people! Wow! I thought our town had some really intelligent people in it, but yours takes the cake! I am so sorry you even have to go through this.

My question is, or did I miss something? Since when do you have to have a permit for a bunny? I thought it was like any standard kid's pet like a hamster, guinea pig, fish, etc. Is there an ordinance or something against it?

All I can say is, keep fighting and know we are all behind you!

I'm so sorry this happened to you.. I really dont see how they can keep you from keeping a rabbit as a pet. Rabbits can be bought at pets shops.. Hence it is a pet.. This is a very common house hold pet.. I would check all the local pet shops or the nearest one.. If they sell them there.. Then maybe they will help you out with your fight..

I wrote to the newspaper.. But I dont see any comments listed at all to be read... Hmm..

Since when did the cleanliness of the inside of a persons home become front page news? Gosh, I hope he doesn't inspect my homes interior its a mess and has no animals in it. Fight this all the way.
