We Quit Cigarettes

Maybe I should take a look at it. I feel like locking horns with somebody this morning!
May I suggest that you not do that? BYC has rules about trolling and creating drama, so best not to go off and risk getting in trouble with the mods.

What other quaint sayings did your Dad have?
One of Mom's favorites was "There are people in hell wanting ice water. They aren't getting it either." At that point, the discussion was over.

Most of Dad's I can not share on this family friendly site. :p

Mom: "Waste not want not"
"The pathway to Hell is paved with good intentions."
"Sing before you eat cry before you sleep."
"Whistle in the morning, and you'll marry a crazy woman." I should have listened. :p

True, once developed. The cold weather stopped these from developing. I was watching close. Waiting to see if the first bunch finishes developing.
Learned a lot about this a couple years ago for a friend in FL.
Was pretty interesting, can't remember half of it but found some pics that showed clearly how to tell if development was far enough along to pick and let ripen.

The bean isle was ransacked. Someone is thinking. Beans and rice still on the shelves.

If anyone needs a bread recipe:
3 cups flour - I mix 1 cup whole wheat with 2 cups bread flour for taste and texture
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons yeast
1 cup and a little bit warm water.

As far as I know, we are not out of bread here, but this sounds yummy enough to try! Thanks for posting!

Wow.
Thank you for your perspective. Clears the air a bit.

Alcoholism runs in mine also (Irish with American Indian and history). So while we make light of it at times, it is a serious issue. All these items are serious. Applause to all who are battling and winning. Hugs to all that need one. Encouragement to those in need. The fight won't end, but that doesn't mean you should stop fighting.

So with occasional tiffs, but on the whole rollicking, they drew near the Neverland; for after many moons they did reach it, and, what is more, they had been going pretty straight all the time, not perhaps so much owing to the guidance of Peter or Tink as because the land was out looking for them. It is only thus that anyone may sight those magic shores.

And then one for @electrycmonk:
Why does Peter Pan always fly?
Cause he can Neverland.
Irish/Cherokee here. Used to use that as a humorous excuse, until I realized how un-funny that was
I figured it out.
Day 29!

Wear green today too!
I forgot all about St. Patty's day! Things are getting lost in the corona-mist.

When I came of age, Dad sat me down and told a lot of family stories that I'd never heard. Warning received loud and clear. He also taught me to tackle problems head on. I don't always win, but everyone knows there has been a discussion.

Happy St. Patrick's day! The bars are closed until further notice in Houston.

The note about the measles parties is interesting. Scary, but Mom did the same thing. Get all the kids sick, then get them all well. None of this passing it back and forth for 2 months.
