Wedding cupcakes-- I need help!!!

mom'sfolly :

I've got a cheese cake cupcake recipe, if you're interested. It's easy, and it CHEESECAKE!

You've been a member here long enough to know it's against the rules to mention cheesecake and not give us the recipe!!

Cheese cake!! Now you're talkin!! I don't think it is a tacky idea at all. I used to be a Catering Manager at an University. Several of the weddings we did had beautiful tiered cake/dessert plates with gorgeous cupcakes on them. Decorated with fresh flowers and ribbons, truly elegant. I hope you post pics of the finished product AND congrats on the wedding

as much as I admire and respect Joe D., (

) I have to disagree with him on this one -- cupcakes at a wedding: not tacky. They can be done as formally or informally as the occasion warrants, and there are many, MANY options as to how you can decorate / use them to fit your budget and decor. Go for it!
ETA: congratulations on the upcoming nuptials!

The first time I said something to my DH about it he thought the same way, then I showed him some pics. It really is neat and different.

That's right, Katy, and YOU have been on here long enough to know that you have to send me a piece if you get a recipe. I'm hungry.

Wow! Those pictures are awesome! Truly elegant. Even better than what I was picturing in my head!

I don't work with fondant but I'm thinking the flowers could be made ahead, or use fresh, to limit the work needed to be done on the Big Day. I know the cake part can be baked ahead, many of the cake mixes I use in "professional" kitchens are meant to be made ahead and taste even better a day to two after baking. General Mills brand. I have a recipe for Self Filled Cupcakes...chocolate cake with cheese cake hidden inside. My DH and I were looking at cupcake books at Target the other day, tons of ideas there, as well as the websites another person listed. Wow what possibilities! Congratulations and ENJOY!

Great, now I want cake!

BTW, cupcakes are a growing trend right now even at weddings. Cake Central has all kinds of recipes and pictures if you need ideas.
