Has your chicken been pecked in the eye? A seed or piece of dirt in the eye might be possible. Respiratory diseases can cause this as well. Is there any sneezing, rattly breathing, or nasal drainage? Is there feather loss around the eye? Can you look inside to see if there is pus, or if the eye is intact? Pictures of the eye would be good if you can manage. Pus needs to be removed. Clean the eye with saline eye wash from the drugstore or a clean wet cloth. Then apply a dab of antibiotic ointment into the eye 2-3 times a day. Plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment as well as Terramycin eye ointment from you r feed store are good.
