One time I was at the fair, (mind you I was not as experienced with chickens at the time.) I saw a leghorn hen and it was labeled hen. I saw the comb and said "That is a rooster."   My DH has told people also that White feathers=white eggs and that brown feathers=brown eggs. He knows that's not true. My dark Brown Leghorns=white eggs and my Rhode Island Whites=brown eggs. The ear lobes is pretty correct with a few exceptions.
