Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

WV you asked for pictures earlier. These are the two latest projects I was doing.

New gate on the new goat extension of the run. Two chicken coops are to the left of the picture.

New hay feeder for the goats.

Nice! I've got some gate work to do on my two big pens now, and the new pens to finish. Trying to get hubby to go get the rest of the lumber has been a challenge. :/

Thanks. I needed to add the gate so that I can still get bigger equipment out of the barn. Previously I just had a man door on the run. Hopefully you'll get your gates and pens done soon.

Dad told me his dad and I would have got along great. My dad was 20 when his dad died at 43. I know him from pictures, and from stories, and from my dad's practical but fun loving personality. Not games and jokes silly, but enjoying life and not taking serious things any more seriously than they need to be. There is a lot of that in me, and I see myself changing, mellowing as I age. The anger and frustration fade, and enjoying life is setting in. Every once in a while I still engage in a skirmish just to keep the talons sharp in case I need them.

My dad and I never shared much fun together when I was a kid but we sure worked together a lot, cutting and hauling firewood, mowing the yard and pasture, hauling water and feed, and fixing stuff. We didn't start enjoying relaxing things together until about 15 years ago.

I miss mine a lot sometimes like today . Out in the hot sun van jacked up four feet in the air on cross ties cut in half . Only difference is I flush every hose Ac condenser and evaporators and all the fluid reservoirs . This is the forth rack and pinion I've put in this van and the third AC compressor. Forth transmission too second time I did it . Dad would just stick in a new part and go on to something else .His cars and trucks were lucky if the oil ever got changed. I remember his car had a rod bearing go out he pulled the oil pan and the head took out the piston and push rods ran it on five cylinders till he found a good used engine . Dad was something else .He could fix anything I get that from him If I can't it at least I can fix it so I have to get a new one

Mmmmmmmm!

We had a Dairy Queen in a town near where I grew up. Any time we went past it, I would ask my dad if we could stop on the way back home. He'd give me the "we'll see" answer all the time. But on the way home, I would always ask again. He'd drive past it and I'd cry, and he'd tell me I reminded him too late.

To this day, it still makes me mad.

We just got a dairy queen we stood there once...had ice cream....it was yummy.
:drool
Yes Please.

I have a pot of beans and ham on.  Cornbread is going in soon and  Apple Pie a la mode for dessert.  :D

:clap  Love it!

Yummy....ham and beans....dang...and now i got the munched...

Sorry, running back and forth making dinner.  :hugs

Even though I tried to baby it, I messed it up at the kids' house taking care of the grand-kids.  DD's house has steps everywhere, 3 up to the door, one down to the living room, three down to the family room, etc.  Bedrooms are upstairs.  Now that I've been home on level ground, it's starting to get better again.  Thanks for asking.

How are things for you?

Isn't it you that gives me a hard time once on a while about taking care of myself....:/

I understand why Berts has made the decision that he has made.  I am about to limit my presence here to The Pond, The Café, and donrae's Leukemia thread.  This is a bad full moon.

Yeah I've shrunk my threads too....i don't have the time to keep up.

Oh it was fun all right, and they were great.  I blame it all on the stairs!  :p

Well here is where I hang out the most, too, although I read a few other threads and comment occasionally.  At least you can trust the people here not to go ballistic. (Or not to go ballistic unnecessarily. :gig )

That cuz we like each other....My Friends

Well you know me - I used to be far left but now I'm more towards the middle.  :gig

But you never know, eventually we will take a road trip. We want to see Smoky Mountains National Park someday.
