He was raking new mulch in, set the base of those grasses on fire, turned to rake some more, and the wind picked up, blazed the side of the house in a split-second! A sprinkler system would have been nice!
He hosed it down in a hurry, but it did melt a few rows of siding. on top of that, we couldn't match the color, so we stole some from the back of my garage to replace the melted ones, and replaced the back of my garage with a slightly different color. Close as we could get. Lol!

Good morning, Pond, I'm back from Connecticut casino land. I'm not a gambler, but the Princess found a slot, "Chicken Yard", and said, "You have to play it." Turned $20 into chicken scratch in a heartbeat and returned nothing. So the Princess is playing some machine where a leprechaun periodically throws out gold coins. He's being tight with the money so she starts tapping on the screen and saying, "C'mon give me a little. Don't be holding out on me. You can do it." Guy at machine next to her is looking strangely at her out of the corner of his eyes. Just happens that she is tapping on the leprechaun's crotch. I say to him, "It's okay she's like this all of the time. Nothing to worry about." Thought he was going to pee his pants laughing. This is life with the Princess. Can't make this stuff up.

Good to be home.

Cold and windy here, but my first incubated chick of the season is zipping right now!
I also tried to listen under Sara, but being so cool and windy, I didn't want to open the nest box too much.

The birds were going nuts, hawk calls, so I ran outside with the shotgun. A empty feed bag had blown across the top of the duck netting and was stuck on the picket fence. Terrifying!

Just came in; found no damage, & everything seems to be where I left it except a couple 1 gal oil jugs that I'm trying to refill for transport to the recycling center, if the pump will work consistently, that is. We moved both vehicles out of the range of the big Pine in case it decided to come down, which it didn't. Never lost power. Worst of the wind is over; mid 30's now & starting to diminish within the next 2-3 hours. Looks like we dodged a bullet this time.

Storm is just picking up here. Worst is supposed to be between 2 PM and 7 PM. Snow is starting to build up on the grassy areas but not on the road - it's just too warm for that.
