Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

You don't till it..... If your gonna till remove it.
I roll mine up at the end of season. I'm thinking of going with a no till method this year. So I'll keep it down and just start laying wood chips this year...... I'm gonna model it after the Back to Eden method.
Looking for a good used wood chipper now.
I have one; come tow it out of here

Full day (I'm not quite sure why I feel the need to post my to do list here, but maybe i need accountability to get 'er done!)
1. As always: chicken chores
2. Run
3. Process 6 cockerels
4. Get music all together for church
7. Move the broodies to better accomodations
Whew. Better get crackin'
Ready..... Set.....GO!!!!

Has anyone here had cayugas or Pekins successfully hatch out ducklings? I have an incubator but letting the ducks do it is much easier I think. This is my first year with them. I’ve never owned poultry before. I lived in the city growing up and my husband has lived on a farm his whole life. So it’s really fun new experiences, but I don’t really know a lot yet.

@CayugaJana - sorry i put Jane instead of Jana - I'd like to blame Monroe, but I've been reading your name wrong this whole time! Need better eye balls. :)
That’s ok! I don’t mind really! It’s just like in real life, people don’t typically hear my name correctly so I answer to Jane, Janet, Janice, Jenna. Lol.

I think you'ld get bored after page one.

Hey @WVduckchick - any more hatching news?:caf

3 more have hatched this morning, including the only one I set from my Splash/Frizzle cochin pen. Gorgeous chick!
Pips in all but 3 eggs. :yesss:

Not had either of those breeds but my Black Swedish hatched 2 sets. She was a great momma! I sold her with ducklings last fall, so I could whittle down to just Call ducks.

We really should live closer..... You moving to Wisconsin any time soon....:)
I wanted to, several years ago, but I promised DW that we'd stay here as long as her mother lived. She's been gone a few years now, but @ 74 my heart's not really into packing up 50 years of accumulated stuff and starting all over in new surroundings. Not sure I want to put up with their Winters, either.
