Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Long day ahead!
Mom's supposed to have surgery today. I'm a little iffy about this... not sure operating on an 85 year old with a drug resistant infection, whose heart has been crazy arrhythmic right up until yesterday, is such a terrific idea. :hmm
At least the drive will be pretty.
And hopefully the family will take good care of the backyard hooligans.

Eh....

not a good percentage, but some had been in the fridge for awhile, and some had been old.

Ended up with only 2 from the blue bantam, both black... going to have to try her eggs again... and I have been forgetting to collect them  I had 6 in the bator, but I think a couple had been in the fridge and were old... I should have written on the eggs.

Ah well.

Only other eggs in there were Ams... again lots of those were old and from fridge... only 2 of those hatched ..... and I got 10 or so Spitz. My black Spitz girl just died, and 2 that hatched are from her... super hoping 1 is a girl. Then I have 3 that will end up gold with black dots, and the rest creamy lighter gold with white spots.

So, good job spitz! :ya Oh, I only have 1 girl that is gold with black dots, so nice that she gave me 3 chicks.

Not great but not awful. I bet those spitz are cute chicks!

Long day ahead!

Your ma is in my prayers I hope everything goes smoothly for her and you and your family as well..
Bad neighbors gets old that’s why I want country and neighbors acres away..I’ve got “country” type but not acres without neighbors lol

@shawluvsbirds sorry for your loss just sucks when these things happen :hugs

Either I am going to have learn to blush... or my head might swell. Wait, the second choice sounds like it might make me warmer. :old second choice it is! :ya

I will try to snap a picture and show ya what the kids set up. We need more though... not a good enough effect yet.

Never seen that sign, Sounds excellent!

oops... Except you live where it is easy to sell the buggers, so I guess awesome!

I have a set hatching right now. 10 out so far, mostly pure Spitz and bantam Ams. Lots more Spitz eggs though.. so not sure how many Ams I will get. I also set my bantam blue Wyandotte eggs (she is under the bantam Am cock). I think only 5 of her eggs... so far 2 hatched, and both are black! Dang all! I need a better dice roll! I want more blue girls!

Phil I was thinking of you... know how I said my super reliable and very old Kubota wouldn't turn over? Turns out it never will again. Took it to a friend. Motor is all seized up and dead, water got in it.... I need to call the old beast dead or get a new motor. :hit
Gosh Al I hate that..... How did water get in her? Through the exhaust?

I actually told my onc once "I've given up alcohol completely (not that I liked the stuff anyway), take all those nasty drugs and done everything you've asked of me without question, BUT, you'll pry my coffee cup out of my cold dead hand!" The look on his face was priceless! :lau

Pretty much us too. We have a total of 3 neighbors more or less along our southern property line clustered at the end of the road (we are a ways off the end) and one more about a half mile or so further to the south. That's the only one with kids. Never seen them come down the road but then they're girls. All our problems have been with the "grownups" or their girlfriend's kids going unsupervised while they drank and partied.

Ditto. We've kind of worn out the trying to be good neighbors thing and so now we are being proactive. (Thank heaven the one neighbor that shares the rest of our southern border are great folks. Always there, never here unless they think we might need help, they need help and never without a phonecall first. Oh, and in the spring when we are swapping baby critters.)

:love:love:love:love

DITTO!!!!! :th
My neighbors are all older..... All heavy drinkers in the day. Now they are all older and don't party anymore. Most have had to give up their alcohol or had to cut back. Of course till a few years ago I fit in good ... But I gave up drinking a couple years ago too.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes about my puppers :hugs

Well, the best laid plans,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the start on the fence yesterday turned out to be an expensive trip to town. DH loaded up the trailer to the Husquvarna lawn tractor and headed toward the fenceline. Only made it a few feet before he looked like one of those bug foggers they used to drive thru the drive-in theaters before the movies. Black smoke everywhere! Another engine bites the dust. DH declares it dead. Off to town. Long story short, we discover we could buy a whole new tractor for about the same cost as a new engine for the old one (now 15 yrs old). A little shopping and shopping around (stumbled across a great deal on a much bigger HP Husquy with a larger cutting deck) and home to get the trailer and DH heads back to town. No fence work this morning either because DH is out in the field taking his new toy for a "test drive" ;) .
He just came in the door with a big smile and a :thumbsup
Men will be boys :p
Gosh golly (looking down to the ground kicking dirt around) I wish I had a new tractor.....:drool
