Its been over 3mo's since I adopted my cats from one of those rescue places that set up in PetSmart. I've been asking the owner repeatedly for their microchip info so I can get them switched over into my name. She keeps promising that she'll get it to me along with their vet records but, "needs to find them" or is "moving this week" or "its national pet adoption week." Well she must move a lot & national pet adoption week must happen frequently because I've heard these same excuses over & over again. So today I hit her up AGAIN. Keep in mind, I've been asking for the paperwork & sending her pix of the cats for months & today she initially acts like she doesn't even know who I am. This text starts "Hi Kat. IKR! I asked for them in person 3x (first, the day they were adopted & 2 other times when I was in buying cat food) & I've sent texts in Feb, March & now this one in May. I've sent pix of the cats every single month to keep me fresh in her mind. I spent a boatload of cash to 'rescue' these cats & have repeatedly told her I can met her any day at any time... Sheesh!

Squirt and Bianca are fine, they are still separated from horny Jax. And 2 of Lexi's babies are good, a blue fawn (got her quack this morning, looking for her buddies) and a grey (probable female too). I didn't even take time to look over the adults for wounds, but they seemed ok.
The odd thing is all the dead bodies except for 1 were floating inside the boat. Mostly up under the hull where they sleep.

I'll be setting a few box traps tonight for sure. I got the fence re-electrified before I left this morning too.

Im so glad ya didnt lose all of them.
But
I sure hope you catch the coon/coons!

And it didn't even eat them or take them. Just killed, like for sport. Disgusting. I felt bad when I shot the first raccoon we trapped a few years ago. I will take pleasure shooting this one or these, when I trap them.

I hate that. Such a worry. Hope you find them. No way to track them? Maybe the one that returned will wander back to where the other 2 are? Keep a sharp eye on her.



Treat train them. You call "here chick" and they come running to you for scratch. That is the only way that I herd chickens... scratch.

But yeah, they are old enough to run about and come back to bed.

Had to be out all day, just got home. Shes outside still, not sure if shes been here all day tho. Hopefully i will be able to get out tomorrow and look for the others again..

My mom told me a story the other day. She said her grandma had a dog and one day her she said. . look how happy and healthy that dog is today. That means it is going to die soon.
And it did the next day.

What's freakier than that is my dad has a similar story about his mom.
My dad had a bird dog when he was a kid and his mom hated it. One day she was looking out the kitchen window at it and said. . I hate that dog I wish it would die.
And. . it did the next day.
I have always figured hearing the story she probably poisoned it. . my dad believes she just literally wished it dead.

Yep, she's bonkers or SOMETHING!!
I hope you get it taken care of soon. Its such a pain dealing with people like that..

All caught up. But I'm too heartbroken to reply to anything. Went outside to let the ducks out this morning, my drake Jax was already out in the yard. How'd he get out? I opened the gate, the adults and 2 of Lexi's babies came running out. Where are the rest?

7 dead ducklings.... 6 floating in the boat, 1 up on the rocks beside it.

A tree branch had fallen on my electric fence, I guarantee it was a raccoon that got in. Only the ducklings were killed. Chickens all fine, other 2 ducklings in a different area are fine, even the broody that is wedged behind the baby coop is fine.

I'll be building a new fence and adding another layer of electric wire this evening.

I'm sorry. That's a tough pill to get down.

I was just transferring eggs to the hatcher for lockdown and dropped one... its bad ... really bad. And the chick is alive but yolk came out of the small end where it shatterd...

So far i planted 55 strawberry plants! So glad i got that bed prepared ahead of time. But i still have at least 55 more to plant, and no bed made. They sent my order twice!
