Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

We don't usually have a mayor, so nothing, lol. It was done as a fun thing and a fundraiser to build a playground. You could pay a fee to have your pet entered.

That's hilarious. But awesome idea!! Did you enter anyone? Ciara for Mayor!!!

Good Morning, Pond!
What a beautiful day! The sun is shining, and the roads were surprisingly good coming in to school today.

I finally got a good look at Ruger’s paw. He managed to take a v-shaped chunk out of the pad. It looks to be fairly deep. He’s hurting today, poor guy. I did have some prescription pain relief left over from the last time he hurt himself, so I gave him one this morning.

Do you think he stepped on something sharp? Poor puppers. :hugs

Having a goat for Mayor couldn't be any worse than some of the jackasses currently in office across the country.
I'd bet he tore it on jagged ice.

That would be my guess. There is so much snow covering everything, I don’t even know how he could have done it. He was out running around when I was doing chores. Came out of the coop and saw the blood. He didn’t yelp or anything. I swear - this is the most accident prone dog I’ve ever had. Three years ago, he came in one morning with a huge cut on the inside of his hind leg, right by the joint. A year and a half ago, my DIL was playing fetch with him, threw the ball into the long grass, and he came out with a large flap of skin torn loose on the front of his leg. That one required stitches and keeping it bandaged for two weeks.

Yep total population mostly lives in town Probably about three hundred homes.... The rest of the seven hundred is spread across the parimeter of Jacumba which is HUGE

but the population density is appx 48 per square mile.... but I suspect about 90 percent of that square mile is uninhabitable.

deb
where I live is pretty much desolate.... It says 10 per square mile but still 90 % of that population is clumped together in towns.
The desert sounds wonderful to me.... But I'd for sure want to be in an area where you could see no one for miles.....I think if I was younger and not so crippled up it would be fun to homestead out on the high desert..... But alas father time is whispering in my ear telling me I can't do the same things I could even five years ago..... This hip was a big anchor during this hard winter we are coming out of.
We're in a blizzard warning all day. It has just started to snow. The wind is whoopin' out there. Fortunately, we had a few days of melting temps, so the old snow isn't going anywhere. It's just the new stuff and the ice that has developed on the roads to deal with.
Cooled down here..... Starting to snow as I type this.....

Broken piece of ice, maybe?

Fortunately, I don't. Had a meeting at 3:30, but am not going. DH was out to check roads and they are nasty. Snow blowing across and sticking, causing about 2" of slush that will pull your car right into the ditch if you're not careful. The sheriff's office has issued a travel advisory.

They weren't. After rain all day yesterday and this morning, we now have snow. At least the driveway will have a little traction again. Yesterday and today it was wet ice. There's not much worse than that. DH put cleats on his boots yesterday. I don't have cleats. I actually drove the car down to the chicken coop today to do chores. I wasn't going to, but after the first few steps out of the garage, I decided it would be crazy not to.

We have so much water on the ice right now....a cool down will help.
Yesterday I was penguin walking just so I wouldn't slip....I sure the heck don't need to hurt my hip worse than it is.... I'm close to the point I cannot take it at times.... Stay safe and warm.

Love your set up @mixedUPturk :love

Great pics @Alaskan :love
Thank you!

Those are gorgeous!!
Thank you! Yours arent anything to scoff at!

You did something, Room - you appreciated the beauty around you! And you came up with an idea! That's more than I accomplished today.

Quite a difference in pictures between Al's place and Turk's place! Thank you both for sharing - it's fun to get a glimpse of someone else's life.
Very welcome! He and i are at about polar opposites: lau

Very good looking birds
Thank you im in love with them, wend i started collecting BLRW eggs for hatching!

I really like that pvc door. That's brilliant! :thumbsup
Wish i could take credit for the build but of course i wouldve used hardware cloth. That was a 25$ craigslist find.

:love gorgeous birds.

One of my prior customers has some hona’s. She said she’d sell me some eggs, pretty cheap. I might just have to hatch some.

:lau how many pens You got?

Thank you all very much i think thats the most compliments ive ever received on my flock and setups! I know theyre not the best setups but theyre a work in progress and DH will eventually get to work with it even at the cost of becoming the house nag.

Ok, don't kill the messenger, but Spring has sprung. We are having a crazy butterfly explosion this year. I've never seem anything like it, maybe because of the excessive rain we've had his year. I must've killed dozens of them the last few days just driving down the street. I swear there have been hundreds of them that have flown thru my yard today. It looks like they're hatching out of a giant tree in my neighbors yard & flying out in groups of about six followed by another group & another & another... They're tiny & fast & I'm frustrated that I cant get a picture of them. Its crazy!!! They're all flying north & I wonder if Kathy & Orr will eventually see them pass thru.
I read an article about your butterfly migration.... The Painted Lady Butterfly's are having a boom year.
