Altogether possible. I have come to the conclusion that if it’s possible to get cut or hurt on it, Ruger will do it.Broken piece of ice, maybe?

You stay safe and warm, too!We have so much water on the ice right now....a cool down will help.
Yesterday I was penguin walking just so I wouldn't slip....I sure the heck don't need to hurt my hip worse than it is.... I'm close to the point I cannot take it at times.... Stay safe and warm.
Same here on the weather and the rest. Almost took up an offer in my younger days to runaway and homestead in Alaska. Still the "what ifs" sometimes cross my mind but like you (and our shared health issues) if I had I would probably not be alive today. Still, getting a little further away from "civilization" would be nice.where I live is pretty much desolate.... It says 10 per square mile but still 90 % of that population is clumped together in towns.
The desert sounds wonderful to me.... But I'd for sure want to be in an area where you could see no one for miles.....I think if I was younger and not so crippled up it would be fun to homestead out on the high desert..... But alas father time is whispering in my ear telling me I can't do the same things I could even five years ago..... This hip was a big anchor during this hard winter we are coming out of.
Cooled down here..... Starting to snow as I type this.....
Yeah... My cellphone coverage here isn't very good...I use my phone mostly on wifi here...I can make calls with WiFi so realistically I don't really need a land line.... But I like having one so I can give that number to businesses.... And other such entities.I should have a mobile phone really for emergencies but the signal up here isn't dependable.

With called ID I only answer if I know who's on the other end.... I'd rather keep my cellphone number as clean and private as I can.
Here it's hard to find small plots.... At least good ones. It used to be that 20's were hard to find but they have become more common. Here most people have small plots... like an acre or 10... but there is so much federal land and native land... huge areas... keeps the density down.
Nah... if a tornado is coming too, can't be from me.
There is a way to do it.... people up here have them, don't take them down, and the snow slides off without breaking them off.... not sure how though.
how many pens You got?
Everything here is a "work in progress".. probably always will be!Thank you!

Thank you all very much i think thats the most compliments ive ever received on my flock and setups! I know theyre not the best setups but theyre a work in progress and DH will eventually get to work with it even at the cost of becoming the house nag.
Had 8 permanent (not counting the 2 at camp), removed the wire between 2 of them yesterday making 1 larger one for the pigeons, so "technically" that took me down to 7.
Plus a baby coop, and pigeon pair cage, plus the duck pen, plus a temporary duckling area, plus a temporary setup for birds being sold.
All of the area under the metal roofing, it goes all the way around behind the back of my shop building. Red pre-fab on the porch is the baby coop. I know the green tarp looks like hell, but I raise it and lower it, depending on the weather. I'll take it down completely once spring is fully here.
