Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Oh wow! So, 11 adults = 24 babies... veey impressive

Perpetually amazes me how great they look as adults... when the babies... uh.... :sick

So... what colors?

Actually I think only 9 of my breeding age birds produced the 24. :D (I have one girl that joins in a threesome sometimes, and sometimes the pair sits without her lol!)

I have one Bluette - the male in the threesome, his wings are not laced. I have mostly blue laced, and a few ash red laced.
Here’s the Bluette

And I’m with ya on the amazingness of ugly to beautiful! Of course, I’ve gotten used to how ugly they hatch, so I think it’s cute. It’s also amazing how fast it happens. They grow out in about 4-5 weeks!

He is very pretty. Do you have a photo of one of the ash faced reds? Sounds like a cool color.
Do you eat the extras? :pop

We don’t eat them. Having only had them a couple years, this is the most I’ve ever had at one time, and they have plenty of room. So I’m not totally overrun....yet...
Ash in the middle of the first pic. Their color gets lighter as they get older

Great photos!

Bantam wheaten Ameraucana... really like those, even though they don't lay all that great, they are just super cute, and are perfect at flock raising chicks. Also, mine are pretty close to SOP, so good looking.

In standard size:

Spitz, only Chamois.

And then a few old hens I just couldn't sell... a Marans cross, a blue Ameraucana, and a black bantam Wyandotte cross.

And.. one white rose comb Leghorn, and one dark brown rose comb Leghorn female.

Also, a male rose comb dark brown Leghorn.

I did hatch 4 chicks... looks like 2, maybe 3 girls... 2 leghorns, and 1 cross from the Marans girl.

Crazy...but I am planning on one more hatch... a tiny one... but I would like a young Spitz.

Hello, Pond. Can someone please boost me up on to my lily pad ? :old

Here ya go buddy.:hugs I couldn’t find coffee flavored.

Didn’t you used to have some gorgeous Dominique males? Did you eat or sell those? If you eat them do you ever keep the feathers?

I sold off my Dominiques, great though they were.

We eat them, and yes, save some feathers. We don't do much of anything with the feathers, but they sure are pretty.
