Same thought worry about gangrene. setting in hopefully it will drop off before warm weather sets in . I would be trying to scrub it back to live tissue and using a topical antibiotic to treat it with .
Sorry; just wondering if she meant it would most likely rot whilst still attached (and require amputation,) rather than coming off cleanly...
We all hope it will wither away on its own Amputation will require a vet and a pretty extensive sugary. Are you allowing her to swim in a pool or tote or bath tub ? I wonder if that help speed up the process

Yes, I give her a daily bath & keep debris off the leg. Will keep doing epsom soaks and apply TAO for now....
