Gorgeous Roo, Ravyn. I had to rehome my pair of Cemanis, in exchange for future eggs. My place wasn't secure enough for them. Plus, with the leakage I'm not sure my cockerel would have been the best start to a breeding plan.

Hope to get back in to them someday.

So sorry for that, hon... you have my number if you ever want eggs from me... serious offer... Pond rates...

All 14 of my lav orps hatched!

Lower humidity for last 3 days definitely works better for them.

And i got a first-egg from one of my silkied seramas. Now if the little boy with them will grow up and do his job. He's a few weeks younger than the girls, so hopefully soon.

Now its time for double shot celebration.

We've been wet for days. Mushrooms are starting to pop up around my runs. Our humidity is as high as our temps.

Shoot, I just found mushrooms around mine today too!

I am starting to find them in my lawn, and EVERYWHERE i am so sick of the rain!!

I've been selected as Education Director of the Ayam Cemani Breeders Association. Since I only started with them 11 months ago thanks to Ravyn and Shade, that's a huge honor. And thanks to meltel for putting another pair into my hands, and to Peepchicken for another pair, and to CJ for some fun fibro crosses. I am getting a few really decent looking chicks, but while I start to build my flock I can be useful in sharing what I've learned on type and selection.

If anyone else here is raising Ayam Cemani (I know Pyxis and LittleLakePhil are) and would like to join the journey to APA acceptance, please feel free to reach out. The newest iteration of the ACBA leadership has a lot less drama than just six months ago.

Congrats on the position I would join, but all or most communication seems to be on Facebook and I have no interest in Facebook. I did try to join when it was first getting set up and was told I could be a state head, and then no one got back to me on that so I just let it go.

Not a good day today. My injured chick passed away today sometime while I was in the middle of a twelve hour car ride with my dad. Then when I got home, my rabbit had given birth on the floor of her hutch and three of her five babies had died of exposure. The last two I had to bring in to warm up. Who knows if she'll properly care for them. I'm going to make her feed them tomorrow if she doesn't seem to want to on her own.

in your car? they are filled with charcoal, i think you have to replace them, not clean them
