Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

BTW

any of y'all have to deal with asperger types?

There are still some giant social oops that my eldest is doing. Kid can't remember some basic social stuff...that he has been reminded about a jillion times over the years.

Don't get it..... all of the kids issues are my issues.... but I don't -think- I did some of the stuff he is doing at such an old age.... ...

not sure why he doesn't have it down yet.

Yesterday a classmate walked up to my kid and one other person. Classmate started telling other person the cool stuff that he and my kid had done in class. My son leaned forward and put his head down on the desk in front of him, without any comments etc.

Who is dawn? Do we need to send some flying monkeys to beat her up?

No!! Dawn is my dear, sweet friend... and that is how we talk to each other, especially when yanking each others chain, lol...

:hugs I've already started thinking that I may need to read my posts once or twice before actually hitting the "post reply" button. I'm betting my brain fog has caused me to post things that aren't 100% clear or things that could be mis-interpreted.

Forcing a burp is a dangerous proposition since I'm at least a bit nauseated all the time. :sick

:he :hugs

I have an awful headache so I'm gonna log off. Wonder if I have a morphine hangover. Ya'll have a good night. Sorry if I hijacked the thread with all this talk about me not feeling well.

Sent you an email, it told me you were already out for the day, lol...
:hugs :hugs

I'm here every morning at least so I didn't want to cause anyone to worry. Thanks, dear! :hugs LOL...is it arrogant of me to think peeps might worry about me?

:hugs Thanks, Shaw.

Nope, not arrogant at all... we DO worry!!

Pssht! That's what we're here for! People did ask, after all, how you are doing. If they didn't want to know, they wouldn't ask.

Hear, hear!!! :old

I don't think i posted here at all yesterday and nobody asked about me :hit :hit

:lau

Plus, I gots numbers... eventually I text, when I can remember to hit *send*... :lau

It is pretty crazy huh? :p

and i think we said a long time ago, we won't usually hunt people down for a day or two missed, but we do worry, especially after a few days! Funny how attached we get to people we only know thru the interweb lines. :hugs

Just cuz most of us haven't met the others *in person* makes them no less *real people*... everyone here is real... and truly themselves... makes a big difference...
Ya'll still affect every day life... across the world even... ;)
:hugs

True that! Living in a small town it's nice to have people to talk to that aren't going to go to church Sunday morning and whisper about you. Lol
Right there with ya...I swear people in this town talk about what yer doin before yer even doin anything...:lau

Phone has been trying all day to do an update. Gonna sign off for a bit and let it do its thing. bbl

Lol. . ok then. I'll put the flying monkeys back in their leashes and collars.

I have a best friend like that Lol we call each other the b word pretty much every time we see each other. She also is famous for giving people the bird. She also gave my daughter the bird when she was only about 5 years old!:eek:wasn't cool but it was so funny I couldn't be mad.
She don't have kids. . doesn't want kids. She's the one I go visit in Oklahoma. We've been best friends since 7th grade.

You should try working on an ambulance service in a small town. The whole town is talking about it before you even reach the scene. One time, my partner and I had just finished a call, went to the local coffee shop and overheard someone saying that our patient had died. (He hadn't) I wonder what they thought the next time they saw him on Main Street? Legally, we're not allowed to even correct people, so we just listen and usually laugh inside.

On the other hand, living in a small town or rural area can have its benefits. When there is a crisis, people are there to help. You're not just some unknown face to them. When we had our fire, we had so many donations, we couldn't use them all. What we didn't use went to a women's shelter. There was also a benefit supper and silent auction that raised over $6000 for us. Currently, there is a little girl in the area recently diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer. You wouldn't believe the outpouring of gifts and donations to her family.

My brother worked for the local police office and his wife was an EMT...Oh the stories!!
Yes, small town folks will pull together in a crisis, no matter who you are or what your background. Guess it's a matter of over looking the not so good for the awesome...:D
