Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

[QUOTE="WVduckchick, post: 19212925, member: 327564".Haven't heard of those. I use 100gr G5 Montec broadheads. I can't use mechanical ones, because my draw is only about 45 pounds. The Montecs make a heck of a hole for fixed blades.

Just talked to my son. Looks like we will try to rifle hunt on Friday. :yesss:[/QUOTE]

All I've ever used the Thunderheads in is the xbow. No reason I know of that the wouldn't work for compounds.
Good luck Friday; our rifle season opens Saturday.

So a huge buck reminds you of me.? I'm honored :gig

This evening, I saw for the second time a small piebald deer, very close to albino, but i did see some brown on its head. It sticks out like a sore thumb in a small patch of woods between two roads. Been in the same spot both times I've seen it.
I had one, a doe, come in here several years ago. Only one I've ever seen, but an old customer up the road has a herd of them on his place.

Holy heck someone in my local bird club on FB is threatening to dump 100 ringneck doves into the wild to fend for themselves if they're not gone by Thanksgiving. I may end up with a pair or two of doves, oy.

Someone needs to be turned in to the local animal protection groups. That's B S on their part.

The years where its just us here are THE BEST! We can take our time lounging around in our jammies & arent rushed making dinner. Theres no pressure, so theres extra time to make stuff from scratch & you can just go lay down without having to entertain anybody... The years where we have people here are the years I buy all the stuff pre-done instead of making it & none of us enjoy the holiday or the food as much as when theres nobody here. Plus no crowd means extra leftovers! :thumbsup

You & me both! :highfive:

Wha.... :th I get all of Pyxis' pie! :wee

I vote keep them. At least for a while & maybe reevaluate after you've gotten to know them better. Its probably not a good idea to decide while you're still reeling from the experience with the others. :hugs

 This makes me a little angry. Maybe she wasn't up to any kind of subterfuge, but theres something that feels a little shady about that (maybe just my city girl paranoia shining thru?)

I cant believe we had to feed & house that effer for almost 50yrs.

The mental health experts believed that he wasn't mentally ill & was just really good at faking it as another facet of manipulation. He was obliviously bat scat crazy, but was it really mental, or drug induced or just evil. Who knows, but as a CA resident, I'm not happy paying food & rent for any of his clan. I gotta side with Shaw & BYC here.

I'm loving you're AC pic in the calendar! I just wish it wasn't placed where it was. :hmm
I'm not trying to create sides in any way. .
I enjoy hearing all different points of view and trying to look at things from a different perspective.
The justice system is so messed up. There is a man sitting in solitary for at least three years now that kidnapped raped and murdered a little girl I knew in my area. . . he was seen taking her. . found shortly after he buried her. Admitted he done it. Even showed them where the body was.
This is where I have to agree with capital punishment.
He should have been strung up on the spot. Why do we have to pay to keep that dude alive.
Why in the world is the trial not open and shut And already over with. There shouldn't even be a trial. There isn't any reasonable doubt he did it.

Surely they won't do it!
There are a bunch of doves in my neighborhood. I usually see them in the mornings when i head out to work. Even noticed some young ones between my garages this summer. They are gorgeous, remind me alot of my SDW OEGBs.

You probably remember the one we had one living on our property for a few years. It had short stubby legs, odd looking critter. Never got more than spike antlers every year. Was cool watching him grow up though. I never heard if someone killed him or he just died or moved on. We had another we got a few pics of, but only for one season.

And, I am sstttiiiiilllll wading through essays. I've graded two that showed significant improvement, and one that read like some ridiculous stream of consciousness diatribe. I stopped marking that one halfway through (we do everything on computer now because the students have to turn them in through a plagiarism software) and told him I was done - it was that bad (but it wasn't plagiarized! Hah! :) ) The rest have been just about average... working on one of those now.

That’s rough! I’m so glad I never had to grade essays in my days as a TA! Blah. Good luck!

They are awfully damn cute! :D

Teal are fast little turds. They are lots of fun to watch fly.

Is that the same as a Eurasian collared dove? If so, they are an invasive species and would be very illegal to just release.
