Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

So, Shade left this morn for work... calls me tonight and says he might have to go back to Murfreesboro for a couple days this week... so I asked if he was working the whole week then, and this is how it went...

Him: Huh? What do you mean?
Me: Well, are you working the whole week through or just part?
Him: Why wouldn't I be working the whole week?
Me: Thanksgiving.
Him: What? When?
Me: Thursday.
Him: That's this week?
Me: Yes. I figured your mom would have told you if she wanted us over.
Him: Oh, yes. She does. But that's this week?
Me: Yep.
Him: Well, crap. Guess I won't be working Thursday then, we gotta go to my parents.
Me: Ya think?
Him: Yeah, they'll be closed Thursday anyways, so I'll have to work Friday and Saturday.

Some days I truly wonder...

So funny... yet eerily familiar at the same time...:gig

I looked it up. Eurasian and ring neck aren’t the same, but ringneck don’t do well in the wild. Might as well just put them down now as turn them loose and let them starve.
If they're anything like quail that have been raised in captivity, they'll get chilled & die in the first rainstorm 'cause the the commercial feed they eat doesn't provide the natural oils in their feathers, produced by the bugs/insects they'd eat in the wild. The oils make the feathers shed the rain, keeping the birds dry & preventing chilling.

I think that’s a Eurasian collared dove, and they are an invasive species. And spreading very quickly.
Looked it up I think your right. That explains a lot.
I can see it them becoming invasive
With the number of them that flock to my yard! WikiPedia says that they carry a disease that can affect poultry too. :th

Grading is finished! Now I can enjoy the rest of the week!
I'm really hoping my roo shows up safe and sound tomorrow...

congrats. You can relax and watch for your boy :fl

Dan, I told you before... they're blues... Blue Laced Red Wyandottes... and you definitely have a pair...

he sure does have a pair for asking the same question twice!! :lau
