Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

They were pretty nomadic, following the buffalo & other game with the seasons, 'til the white man, with the help of the military, moved in & stole their land.
Every land was taken by someone at some time..... Heck even the Romans were conquered by someone..... And they weren't all simple... Or nomadic. The Indians in Michigan didn't wander around.... Or Chase Buffalo..... That's a stereotype.
Here they were hunters and fisherman. And traders.... Indians had trade routes throughout the country.... Two years of American history in college I guess taught me something....

I don't think allot of people realize that they had a civilization here..... They weren't the savages you see in a old Western....

Smoking a rack of ribs today.... Still had to dig down to get to the smoker....I was real glad to find out it still had propane.... Or if have been digging the tank out too.

No... That's not the case....I looked it up
Pawnee Indians of Nebraska.... Were Farmers.
And it seems most tribes in the central plains were agricultural ..... Beans... pumpkins... Maize were among their basic crops..... People I think seem to forget native Americans weren't all just sitting in tee pees..... Some had villages and permanent residence.
Thanks Phil. So it's possible that some tribes did farm livestock.

Still haven't seen that.... But for sure some farmed at least in some form.... The old folk lore us that they taught white man about fertilization.... But I'm serious about finding out more. So I'll look into it..... Expand my knowledge base a little

I'm interested because I was trying to find out if chickens were introduced to The Americas by the Spanish as history taught here would have us believe.
