No huge news up here. Still waiting for Mother Nature to decide to give us spring, hopefully this year before it's supposed to be summer. After hearing everything most of my pond mates are dealing with, I feel a bit guilty that things are going so well up on the northern shore (hope I didn't just jinx myself! )

Look what I got ! It's used but everything on it is perfect, even the electronics, and way way cheaper than a new one. I found it on a local FB marketplace and told the DH I'd decided it was an answer to his refusing to let me go walking by myself when the snow was deep/weather yucky, during hunting season(s), holidays when crazy city folks are roaming, etc. and of course my failing hips and knees (thus the recumbent vs upright). I was able to talk the price down another $100 and DH announced he would buy it for me for Mother's Day /Birthday

Ok.... feast day photos.

Saturday morning... the icon of Jonah and the whale. Since he was swallowed by the beast for three days and yet emerged whole. Also note the floor is still clean.

Now we know that the resurrection is going to happen...but it hasn't yet... so we are halfway between. So the priest has changed to white, but the altar is still dressed in dark. And here the priest is tossing out laurel leaves, because we know that Christ is being victorious in Hades.

And now Saturday evening everything starts out dark, because Christ, the light of the world, is not yet with us. Here the Priest has just lit the first candle and is starting to share it with the congregation.

Here is kid 4 as altar server, sharing the light. Kid in plaid is kid 5, helping someone else's kid. I have always told kid 5, since he is youngest, he has to work hard to play "big brother" to other kids. He has picked the kid infront of him to "brother".View attachment 1755691
We process around the church, to move from the darkness and death of this world to the light and life of the Kingdom of God. At the end of this part the priest bangs on the door, reciting lines from psalm 24. Eldest kid got to be the one inside the church shouting out the response "Who is this King of Glory?"

Eldest kid on the left. The thing he is holding is supposed to represent the cherubim, or angels, and that is why he is holding it at an angle over the priest's head.

I was here then gone now here . Never sure where I am at any given moment Easter Sunday the nanny goat had triplets, just before we were supposed to go to the family dinner .To make matters worse, Me and DW had to leave early Monday At 4 a.m. morning for Illinois . Three hundred miles and be there by 10:30 and back home before to late . 600 miles . I didn't sleep much Saturday or Sunday night . AND DW makes A terrible carpool lane dummy. Started yelling at me to slow down two minutes on the interstate So I had to explain to her what a carpool lane dummy's duties are . And Bob Evans don't know how to make sausage gravy atall I didn't fall asleep at the wheel not once .Carpool dummy kept yelling at me and screaming all the way . And all I did was hit the rumble strip a couple of times And let me tell you Kentucky might as well dig up what's left between the pot holes Which ain't much, and maybe the road would be better. On the plus side the truck did ride better on the way back with the compressor loaded on it .And I did get a picture or two. Even got off the interstate to site see a little bit . Really it was a good trip. Had DW laughing when I started telling her she just wasn't cut out to be a carpool lane dummy ,and better find another profession And ifin Phil can I can , Here's my rendition of the inner man View attachment 1756462 course I shrunk a little with age

OK Craigs list..... Not fired and glazed but probably more practical for my purposes

I can seal the inside with Acrylic paint .... These are more practical because they come in two parts.... Easier to move.

There is a plus side too. For those 110 degree days a mister on the outside would allow evaporation to keep the terracotta cool.

Sour if yer aiming that broody gps at bobbi please make sure its set right.. I don't need any more briodies here..
None of my birds are taking the downsizing seriously!
I now have 4 broody Calls on goodness knows how many eggs, they are in spots I cant get too, as usuall , I can see them, just cant get them..
One lavender AM that I gave into yesterday and gave 3 eggs to. Several others wanting eggs too but Im trying to stay strong!
Bobbi, how many of these broodies do you want?

We got to have Zailey overnight, Sat, and she loves to sit on Brandons lap at the piano. I only got a short video but he gave me permission this morning to post it publicly... he usually only lets me share in a pm, I think he's getting over his shyness about the idea.
I do wish Id gotten more than just a few secs but here it is anyway..

Yep. Similar here. Set all kinds of cold records over the weekend and now it's snowing. At least it won't stick. Give me a break!!! I have at least a ton of outside stuff to get done yet before my surgery on the 9th At least I did manage to get the last of the tree limbing and pruning done yesterday. Doubt I will get anything done outside today. Snow is to turn to rain and more or less continue thru Wednesday. Oh well, I guess I'll have to work on the inside spring cleaning instead.
How much do I hate housework? I'd rather muck out an entire barn than do housework.

I understand completely! My barn was always well organized and tidy.. the house? Um, not so much..

#1 son was not real happy down in Racine, either. I don't think their snow ever materialized, but he had to postpone the the maiden voyage of the "new" fishing boat he picked up last week. Finally has something that will handle Lake Michigan.

Good morning Pond flock One of the best things about the way I travel is the unknown . Just pick a road and go down it , Anywhere but the interstate .so My Favorite picture of the day trip .Woodlawn Ill. where we went to pick up the compressor .I found this . Kinda sad thinking about how much work went into it's construction , The milk barn it must have held cattle feed for ,and this is all that is left . standing in a lush green crop of wheat. Slowly being consumed by hackberry tree, from within.

Aw, thank you Deb! I think he's hopeing she'll pick it up in time, the other 3 grands aren't as interested. She's still young tho, so who knows ..
He's come a long way in 5 years learning on his own. Im really proud of his commitment to it and his progress.
