Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I'm so worn out.

Some people retire & go into woodworking, or volunteer for community outreach. Of course, I've got to be stuck near a guy who's new hobby is harassing people.

The guy from waste management is terrified of this guy. He said he's called him 5x already this morning & when he came to take pictures of the easement for his boss, Crazy saw him drive up & was laying in wait for him at the bottom of the road. He said we should've pressed charges even if he'd only be detained a few hours & repeated that the guy needed to be medicated. He is trying to reroute a smaller truck that can come up our easement without tearing it to bits. I'm hoping the other neighbors will go for it & it will one less thing we have to deal with.

I know my rooster is next on his list. I die a little inside every time he crows. I know he's a goner. :hit

You guys are right about him being more dangerous than we know & we are all aware not to engage & not check the mail, etc.. alone. Once he runs out of things to harass us for I'm sure he'll turn on his mousey little wife. I hate to say it, but I bet she'll eventually be sleeping under the porch steps. :(
Unless he is adjacent to you home I wouldn't worry about that . Neighbors on either side of you have the most say, when it comes to a nuisance charge . Easement laws are pretty standard . If a person can prove they travel over someone's property daily in the course of normal life .And have been doing it for years . Then even where there is no written easement, it will hold up in court .The court can then write the easement. The Natchez trace highway is just such a case . Covering more than one state ,the federal government used the law to take private property to build the highway . It is a federal easement law . Very much like the federal law that says you can't keep a surveyor off private land, when surveying the adjacent parcel . Or a proposed state or federal highway . Or now a watershed areas for all rivers and streams . Next find out about his criminal history . For little money that can be done on line. If by chance he is a convicted felon the he cannot own or have a fire arm. Not even a pellet rifle .Again federal law .I know these things because I have had a judge use them on me . And when your from a big southern family :confused:You can bet at least one or more of them have been in trouble with the law ;) :lau Any how you have to look at this from all sides . Guns are not the only means of self defense. A keen eye and common sense are always your best defense .Least that's what my uncle the K9 cop always told me .A big ass dog don't hurt none either :lau

Another 40o morning. I bet the water in the pond is COLD!

:lau:thumbsup

Nope. My guess is big load, small trailer, empty 6 packs. Lots of "bubbas" in the woods up here  ;)
eta: give away is this move was attempted at night. :gig
Poor Bubba after all that work .:hit:lau

I'm really saddened by the struggle you are having Room.
Your state and New York have always puzzled me.....

Thanks buddy! :hugsCalifornia was the original wild west. I have no idea how it became such a pansy state.

The bears there are very tame.... It's not hard to tame a bear. Black bears aren't really aggressive and are very intelligent. Oswalts bear ranch takes in orphan bears and give them a good home. Where they have plenty of room to roam and plenty of other bears to hang out with. I think this year I would like to take my grand daughter Claire there while she is up for a visit.

You definitely should! :thumbsup You're making great memories for those kids that they will cherish for a lifetime.

Ours usually fly off the road and over a boulder cliff.... boulders that could hide a semi trailer.... and or parts there of....

Every time I'm down your way, I always wonder what Wyatt Earp must've thought when he came over a mountain & found stuff like this. It must've taken forever to get thru on horseback.

I heard him tell the sheriff he'd never been arrested before. Its pretty clear that's about to change.

He told me & the trash guy that he's been driving up & down all the private easements in the neighborhood checking them out. If the dude keeps looking for trouble, he's definitely going to find it.

Hello, Pond!
I am home for a day, off again tomorrow for our 3rd week at Camp. I'll have 43 primary week campers (going into grades 2-5) to feed this week, along with a dozen or so staff. This is the easiest week. For one thing, I've had two weeks' practice, and they don't eat as much so I don't have to cook as much.

So, a month ago I mentioned that one of my chickens disappeared and I wasn't sure if she was nesting or got eaten. She showed up on Thurs. with 4 little fuzzballs in tow, about a week old. (That's my estimate, anyway, since they already have the beginnings of wing feathers.) I don't know where they spend Thursday night, but yesterday when I got home, I made little steps for them so they could get into the coop. She had them in there last night. I love seeing her with them, and how the rest of the flock just does their thing around them. No fighting or picking or any other thing.

Time to get ready for next week. Just thought I'd check in. (I read Pond posts every night and think of you all, just don't have the time or oomph to respond.)

If you're in the process of building a homemade houseboat and forgot which road you left said boat in the middle of, then please give us a call. We found it. We also need to have a chat.

Proof positive that Alaska doesn't hold the patent on "creativity" (aka crazy) . Got to love summer up north.

I just spent three days working on a house boat for Raul.....

.... The old six cylinder Chevy motor hadn't been run in 20 years. I went to Gladstone the other day bought a remanufactured starter for $40 stuck it in. A huge chore in itself as you can't get under the motor to remove the old starter. Cleaned up the points. And she fired right up. Ran great.
