Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

This is your beloved Jeep from college, right? I'm having a total anxiety attack for you right now. :hit :hugs :hit
Nah.... it is the Jeep my sister abandoned up here in Alaska when she moved back south...

AND the cops already have it

When we called to report...they asked for the plate. .then said yep, we have it

All of my years living in big cities....

Over 20 years of leaving my keys in the car up here in Alaska..... and this is the first time I have ever had a car stolen.

Crazy.

And there were 2 way nicer cars in the parking lot (also with keys on the dash) and the Jeep is a stick... a bit fiddly start too... have to have the clutch jammed down... the Jeep is the oldest of the bunch.

Our jeep is gone.....

It was in the parking lot last night....

Not there now......

So odd.....

:th
My first reaction was, "Not the Jeep!" And then I kept reading and breathed a sigh of relief.

The trooper that grabbed it will call in a bit... and tell us what happened.
:pop

Yep. But all the paint matches on the Jeep... ;)

They did tell us who...... some criminal from Anchorage that used to live in this area maybe 6 years back.... he came on down and since he had lived around here...that is why he knew our place was here....

Anyway... he stole a car in Anchorage... drove it down to the Kenai Peninsula... swapped it out for a different car that he stole... I forget where... drove that one someplace (haven't found that car.. but after talking to the trooper we were thinking he parked it at some cabins north of us.. ten minute walk through the nature center then to our house) and then grabbed our car.... then started to drive back to Anchorage....

Half way to Anchorage the cops saw him (not sure how they knew it was the guy... except he was spotted close to the fire...so maybe they still have a pilot car there... and stopped cars on the road????)

Anyway... trooper chased him, and he ran our Jeep off the road and onto a guard rail... a couple of wheels up off the ground....

Trooper says that the car looks fine...just needs a tow truck to pop it off the guard rail....

Anyway... not sure where the car is going tonight.... closest tow truck was from Seward... car got stuck on a guard rail about 3 hours from our house... close to Cooper Landing.

Our house is close to Homer (if you guys want to map out the entire fun car ride)

Cops said they would get it somewhere tonight....

Anyway... :idunno

We only have liability on it... so I sure hope it drives.....

Sheesh
