Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

New York City was fun! It was just a quick visit, down on Saturday and back yesterday. I went to American Museum of Natural History for three hours, and then they closed at 6 and I missed a bunch of it, so I'll have to go back. I did see their special exhibition on T. rex, which was very cool. Then I had to sprint through the rest of the dinosaurs because the museum was closing.

Then after we had to leave, we walked through central park, grabbed some dinner, rode the train back out to Newark (where my aunt lives) and called it a night. I found the Balto statue:

Sunday was Comic-Con, so we got up, got on the train and headed over. And it was extremely packed. Lesson learned, next time I'm going on a weekday. No really, it was SO packed, you couldn't even really stop to look at anything. So I didn't get a lot of pictures. And they were also sold out of the con exclusive plushie I wanted to get. But my Dad did get some con exclusive Funko Pops.

After spending a couple hours there, most of which was just spent fighting with the crowd to get anywhere, we went and ate lunch at a diner and then it was time to head home.

Next time I'll go down for longer and do some more stuff. My aunt works in the Empire State building, so she can take me to the top for free. That'll be fun.
very cool!

Because of the movie i knew the story but for any other nerds out there who couldnt read the inscription and wanted to know exactly what it said:

DEDICATED TO THE INDOMITABLE SPIRIT OF / THE SLED DOGS / THAT RELAYED ANTI TOXIN SIX HUNDRED MILES OVER ROUGH ICE / ACROSS TREACHEROUS WATERS THROUGH ARCTIC BLIZZARDS FROM / NENNANA TO THE RELIEF OF STRICKEN NOME IN THE / WINTER OF 1925 /---/ ENDURANCE FIDELITY INTELLIGENCE /

Not gonna 'like' that.
But we made it!!! We're ready :wee
Everything that needed it is painted, patched, repaired, taken down, put up, moved, dug out, planted, put to bed,,,,,, Ok, still a little more to be done on that last one but we have two more days of autumn :fl before winter arrives to finish up on the herb garden and cleanup. Even the rain is holding off so it's work hard today, a final road trip tomorrow to see what's left of the fall color before everything turns white, then bring up wood for the fireplace, gas up the generators, make sure I have everything needed for a big pot of soup and some fresh homemade bread, then bring it on Mother Nature :love (just plz, no ice storm first, ok?)
